<p>A Pagani Utopia on display at a Monterey Car Week event was noticed emitting smoke from its engine. According to an event official, a visitor had discharged the fire extinguisher in the vehicle, causing the smoke. A witness at Monterey Car Week said the smoke was coming from the Pagani exhibit at The Quail. The event occurred at Pagani's 25th-anniversary party at The Quail. This exhibition marked the debut of the Utopia in the Americas. The Quail is a prestigious event that draws wealthy attendees, exclusive manufacturers, and pricey vehicles. The event, which takes place annually in Carmel-by-the-sea, California, is quite popular amongst luxury automakers, affluent consumers, and the automotive press.</p>

<h2>Pagani's 25th Anniversary Celebration</h2>

<p>Pagani Automobili is exhibiting its hypercars at the event, commemorating the company's 25th anniversary. Horacio Pagani has converted his firm into a creative atelier where a group of individuals, who recognise and appreciate each other, work together to make incredible hypercars.</p>

<p>The Pagani Atelier's other two iconic models, the Zonda and the Huayra, are also on display alongside Utopia. These three cars represent the beginning, middle, and end of the C8 project in 1999, the C9 project in 2011, and the C10 project last year. Two highly regarded examples – the Huayra R and Zonda R, both designed to provide the maximum possible performance – serve as anchors for the show.</p>

<h2>Pagani Utopia</h2>

<p>In September of 2022, Pagani presented the world with their new Utopia hypercar. The third model from the company – which replaces the Huayra while maintaining the brand's emphasis on aerodynamics – will be produced in a very restricted run of 99 vehicles. An upgraded version of the Mercedes-AMG 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine, which produces 864bhp and 1,100Nm of torque, continues to power the Utopia. Whereas the Huayra's gearbox was an automated 7-speed single-clutch, the Utopia's is a manual 7-speed gated gearbox. Pagani offers a manual gearbox as standard equipment, but a 7-speed, single-clutch automatic gearbox is available as well.</p>

<p>The front and rear Brembo carbon-ceramic disc brakes provide stopping power for the Utopia's 21- and 22-inch forged alloy wheels, respectively. The Pagani Utopia is 70kgs lighter than the Huayra, thanks to its monocoque chassis and carbon and titanium body panels.</p>

Multiple eyewitnesses reported witnessing thick plumes of smoke coming from the rear of the Pagani Utopia's firewall and engine area. Fire extinguisher discharge, not a fire, was swiftly determined to be the source of the smoke.
