<p>Franco Morbidelli suffered a nasty scare during training on a Panigale V4S production Superbike at Portimao on Tuesday. His new Pramac team said that Morbidelli was in training with the VR46 Academy, other MotoGP riders from Ducati, and the WorldSBK field when he had a "bad crash" and was rushed to the hospital for further examinations. Thankfully, precautionary and safety grounds have led to optimistic indicators regarding his current condition. At Turn 9 on the Portimao track, Morbidelli lost control of his Ducati road bike. Both&nbsp;Marc and Alex Marquez helped him make his way back to the pits. Former Petronas Yamaha championship runner-up, who debuted on a Pramac Ducati at Valencia in November, will be riding a Desmosedici GP24 again at the Official Sepang test from February 6-8.&nbsp;</p>

<h2>MotoGP: Pramac Ducati and Franco Morbidelli</h2>

<p>After a dreadful 2023 season with Yamaha, Franco Morbidelli has left the Japanese factory and will be racing for Pramac Ducati, where he will race alongside Jorge Martin during the 2024 season. The 2023 season was also a nail-biter for the championship between Jorge Martin of Pramac and Francesco Bagnaia of the factory team Ducati. Bagnaia went on to win the championship.</p>

<p>Now that he has a Desmosedici GP24, his concerns over the bike's competitiveness have been addressed. <p>It's important to note that Morbidelli finished second in the 2020 World Championship. However, since then, he has finished in 13th, 17th, and 19th places. The signing with Ducati comes at a pivotal point in the rider's career, and at the age of 29, he has a fantastic chance to get back to his best in MotoGP.</p>


MotoGP: Pramac Shares Update on Franco Morbidelli's Health Post-Crash

Morbidelli crashed during testing with Ducati MotoGP and VR46 Academy members, including Valentino Rossi, at Autodromo Internacional do Algarve in the WorldSBK official pre-season test.

<p>MotoGP Thailand Grand Prix's first-day practice was topped by Pramac's Jorge Martin, but championship leader Francesco Bagnaia struggled and ended up 10th. Despite being 27 points behind championship leader Pecco Bagnaia, Martin put in a solid performance throughout the whole round. He spent the majority of the practice in third place, just 0.011 seconds behind the leader, Maverick Vinales, and a paltry 0.009 seconds behind Alex Marquez, who was in second place.</p>

<p>Martin, however, made a calculated call by going with the softer of the two possible rear compounds this weekend, the "medium," which equates to last year's "soft" tyre. He was able to secure his position at the top with ease thanks to his choice. His first flying lap of the stint was the fastest, and his second lap time of 1 minute, 30.520 seconds cemented his position as the session's fastest rider.</p>

<p>Only Martin and Vinales were able to break into the 1-minute 30-second area by the time the practice session came to a close, with Vinales making use of a brand-new hard rear tyre to come within a quarter of a second of Martin's mark.</p>

<h2>MotoGP Thailand GP: Free Practice Nr. 1 Result</h2>

<p>Jack Miller and Brad Binder, the two riders of the factory KTM squad, had a lacklustre practice session, finishing 13th and 14th, respectively, more than a second behind the leader. Luca Marini and Marco Bezzecchi, who raced together with VR46 and finished in 15th and 16th places, also had a difficult race. After a difficult session, Marc Marquez finished in 18th place on the factory Honda, with teammate Joan Mir following closely behind him in 20th.</p>

<p>LCR's Takaaki Nakagami rode the top-finishing Honda, and he finished 11th overall. Note that Nakagami is LCR's only representative this weekend after Alex Rins withdrew due to soreness after having surgery to fix a hernia in his still-recovering right leg.</p>

<p>Aside from a few dramatic moments, the practice went relatively smoothly. Twelve-place finisher Fabio Quartararo was frustrated with himself for making a mistake at Turn 4 while trying to speed up his laps. Brad Binder and Marc Marquez both had some rough practice starts following the session, but they eventually got it right.</p>


MotoGP Thailand GP: Jorge Martin Tops First Practice, Title Leader Bagnaia Finishes Tenth

On the first day of practice for the 2023 Thai MotoGP, Jorge Martin topped the field with a set of new medium tyres, followed by Maverick Vinales, Pol Espargaro, and Aleix Espargaro. Yamaha's Franco Morbidelli finished in a respectable fifth place.

<p>Franco Morbidelli has officially signed with Pramac Ducati, where he will race in the 2024 MotoGP season alongside Jorge Martin. A few races ago, Alex Rins was signed away from LCR Honda to take the factory Yamaha rider's place. A switch to Pramac has been widely speculated around ever since it was revealed that he will be leaving Yamaha, where he has spent the previous five seasons. This was made clearer when Marco Bezzecchi opted to remain with the Mooney VR46 Ducati team rather than join Pramac. Franco Morbidelli, the runner-up in the 2020 MotoGP Rider Championship, the 2017 Moto2 World Champion, and the 2013 European Superstock 600 Champion will return the Italian flag to the Pramac Racing team's garage three years after Pecco Bagnaia's departure. The two Yamaha riders, Morbidelli and 2021 world champion Fabio Quartararo, are now trailing the overall leader and defending champion Francesco Bagnaia by a significant margin.</p>

<h2>MotoGP: Ducati's Luigi Dall’Igna Welcomes Morbidelli to Factory-Supported Pramac Racing</h2>

<p>Paulo Campinoti, Prima Pramac Racing Team principal, commented on Morbidelli joining Ducati-sponsored Pramac Racing: "I am very happy that Franco is joining our family for 2024. I have an excellent relationship with him, and he has proven to be a champion on many occasions. I am confident that in our team, he will find the right conditions to fight for the positions he deserves."</p>

<h2>MotoGP: Ducati's Door Closed for Marc Marquez?</h2>

<p>The number of alternatives available to Marc Marquez for the 2024 season is narrowing. With Prima Pramac Racing's signing of Franco Morbidelli on Monday, another piece of the 2024 MotoGP grid puzzle was revealed. There has been much talk in recent weeks regarding the eight-time World champion racing for Ducati if he decides to quit the Repsol Honda Team, where his contract has one more year to run. There have been a few openings as of late, with Gresini Racing being the most widely discussed. Now that Franco Morbidelli is here, Marc can forget about working at Prima Pramac in 2024.</p>

<p>Keep in mind that Marquez kept everyone on their toes by explaining at the Misano test that he has "plan A," "plan B," and "plan C" for the future and will reveal his plan during the Indian GP or the Japanese GP.&nbsp;</p>

<p>At the Misano test, Honda showed off the first 2024 prototype. Almost every aspect of the engine was the same as the one Marc Marquez had been using all 2023. To say the least, Marquez's comments didn't augur well for his future with Honda.</p>


MotoGP: Franco Morbidelli to Race for Pramac Ducati in 2024

Prima Pramac, a satellite team of Ducati, revealed that they have signed Yamaha's Franco Morbidelli for the 2024 MotoGP season. The Italian rider will compete on the 2024 Desmosedici, which will also be used by Factory Ducati riders.

<p>To compete with KTM and Ducati, Honda debuted an aerodynamic fairing on Takaaki Nakagami's LCR-run bike at the British Grand Prix two weeks ago. Marquez and his teammate Joan Mir used the new aero kit at the Austrian Grand Prix. Marquez felt "better and better" as the day went on with the new aero, but he still had to ride the RC213V differently to compensate for it, and the bike's poor acceleration was still an issue.</p>


MotoGP: LCR Honda Confirms Johann Zarco for 2024-25

<p>Johann Zarco has shared his thoughts on joining the LCR Honda team for the upcoming MotoGP season. It was announced shortly after Sunday's Austrian MotoGP that the French rider would be leaving Pramac Ducati, where he had raced for the previous three seasons. Essentially, he's going to the LCR Honda team, replacing Alex Rins.</p>

<p>Johann Zarco in an interview said, “I've grown a lot since 2019 when I had the difficult KTM experience. But Honda it’s another story, even if they are struggling now, they don't have the winning bike right now, they are still Honda and they have the power to come back if they find the right way for the development. So I will be the most proud if I can be part of this and very glad if I can perform.</p>

<p>As a result of the trade, Zarco will be switching from the Desmosedici, which is currently leading the world championship, to the RC213V, which has won only one race in the last two years. Following his mid-2019 departure from KTM, Zarco made three appearances for LCR and Honda. He spent the following year at Ducati after racing for Avintia, and he will be switching to Pramac in 2020.</p>
