<p>Whenever a new Pulsar hits the market, it gets us pretty excited. After all, many of us grew up dreaming about owning a Pulsar. But here’s the thing: Bajaj already has two different 125cc Pulsars in India — the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/bajaj/pulsar-125/">125</a> and the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/bajaj/pulsar-ns125/">NS125</a> — plus nine other versions in various categories up to 400cc. This raised the question: why is Bajaj introducing another Pulsar, specifically the N125? They explained that each Pulsar model and its variants dominate different regional markets in India, which is why they offer so many options. Bajaj also told us that the Pulsar N125 is an all-new model, built from scratch to bridge the (tiny) gap between the existing 125cc Pulsars.</p>

<p>Despite this, we remained uncertain about how the new N version would coexist with its counterparts in the Pulsar family without cannibalizing them. To help clarify this, Bajaj invited us to a karting track for a short ride experience. This would give us insight into whether the Pulsar N125 should exist, or perhaps not.</p>

<p><strong>New Bajaj Pulsar N125 First Ride Review: Design and Features</strong></p>

<p>The new N125 stands out compared to all the other Pulsars, but it also misses that classic Pulsar vibe. It features a sharper and sleeker design, somewhat reminiscent of the Honda X-Blade or Hornet. Designers have effectively utilized sharp edges and creases throughout the motorcycle's body. The extended tank shrouds and fork covers (mimic the USD fork look as well) still add a bit of bulk to the front, and even the side profile looks proportionate. But with its slim profile, it’s tough to connect it to the Pulsar brand, which has always been known for a beefy look.</p>

<p>The sleek profile of the Pulsar 125N is further complemented by an underbelly exhaust. While this design isn't new for Bajaj, as all other N and NS models also utilize a similar exhaust setup, we believe it would have looked better with a traditional side-slung muffler. Overall, the design is appealing, and it stands out as a good-looking option in the 125cc category. If the Hero Xtreme wasn’t around, we’d probably think this is the best-looking bike in its class.</p>

<p>The Bajaj Pulsar N125 comes in two different trims. The main upgrades include Bluetooth connectivity and an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) — which is a first for the Pulsar lineup — making for a quieter electric start. The top-end model also has a cool auto start/stop feature to save fuel. Plus, you’ll notice a bigger LCD screen and a slightly wider rear tyre on the Bluetooth model.</p>

<p><strong>New Bajaj Pulsar N125 First Ride Review: Engine &amp; Gearbox</strong></p>

<p>We anticipated the Pulsar N125 would feature a modified version of the same 125cc engine used in other Pulsar 125 models. However, the difference is substantial, giving the impression of an entirely new engine. In terms of specifications, this single-cylinder, 2-valve engine produces approximately 11.8 bhp and 11 Nm of torque, which is the same as the NS125. The key difference is that the peak torque in the N125 is available at lower RPMs compared to the NS. Bajaj has informed us that 80% of the torque is accessible at just 2,500 RPM, resulting in enhanced low-end and mid-range performance in the N125. What impressed us the most were the nearly flat torque curve and the smooth power delivery.</p>

<p>The refinement of the Pulsar N125 is commendable. We started feeling some vibes only after we crossed the 75kmph mark, but those were also pretty manageable. The engine comes married to a five-speed gearbox which feels slick and precise for the motor. The pull for the clutch lever is also the lightest we've experienced in any commuter motorcycle.</p>

<p>The N125 delivers power smoothly, but it still feels pretty fast. Bajaj says it can go from zero to 60 km/h in 6 seconds, and honestly, we didn't notice it being any slower. They also mentioned a top speed of 97 km/h, but we clocked it at 104 on the speedo, which could just be a common speedometer glitch.</p>

<p><strong>New Bajaj Pulsar N125 First Ride Review: Ride and Handling</strong></p>

<p>The new chassis of the N125, weighing in at 125 kg and sporting a short 1295 mm wheelbase, makes for a super nimble and fun ride. We took it for a spin on a tight, technical go-kart track, and it felt agile. Bajaj even let us hit the streets for some time, where it was compact enough to weave through traffic with ease. Plus, on the few corners, we found during our ride, the N125 felt solid and stable, all thanks to the Nylogrips from MRF.</p>

<p>The 795mm seat height makes it super comfy and easy to handle the bike in tight spots, even when traffic's heavy. It has a telescopic fork up front and a preload-adjustable monoshock in the back, both with 125mm of travel. While the ride can feel a bit stiff, it deals with bumps pretty well. The front disc brake and rear drum brake with a Combined Braking System (CBS) do a solid job of stopping. We really liked how responsive the front disc is. That said, it would be nice if Bajaj had at least offered ABS as an option since the competition has it.</p>

<p><strong>New Bajaj Pulsar N125 First Ride Review: Should You Buy It?</strong></p>

<p>The Pulsar N125 stands out with its excellent balance of handling and performance, offering a light and agile riding experience. Bajaj has engineered the new chassis to make the motorcycle playful and enjoyable in both urban traffic and on winding roads. The model without Bluetooth is priced at Rs 94,707 (ex-showroom), while the version equipped with Bluetooth and ISG costs Rs 98,707 (ex-showroom). Competitors like the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/tvs/raider-125/">TVS Raider</a> and <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/hero/xtreme-125r/">Hero Xtreme 125R</a> are priced between Rs 95,000 and Rs 1.04 lakh (ex-showroom). With that, we can say that the sporty new Pulsar N125 presents a compelling value-for-money proposition.</p>

New Bajaj Pulsar N125 First Ride Review: Segment's All-rounder?

Will the new Bajaj Pulsar outshine the TVS Raider and Hero Xtreme 125R in terms of looks, performance, and handling?

<p>In June 2024, <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/bajaj/">Bajaj Auto</a> delivered 1.77 lakh two-wheelers in the domestic market, representing a 7% rise over the 1.66 lakh units sold the year before.&nbsp;It shipped 1.26 lakh units, a slight 1% decline from last year's 1.27 lakh units.&nbsp;The manufacturer delivered 3.04 lakh two-wheelers in total, up 3% over the 2.94 lakh units sold in June of the previous year. The company credited sales success to various models, including the Bajaj Chetak, Pulsar, Platina, and Dominar.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In the commercial segment, Bajaj experienced a 16% year-on-year increase in the domestic market, selling 39,244 units.&nbsp;It sent 15,857&nbsp;units overseas, exhibiting an increase of 14% from 13,641 units shipped in June of last year.&nbsp;In all, the company delivered 54,831 CVs in June,&nbsp;a notable 16% increase over the 47,332 units sold the previous year.</p>

<h2>Bajaj Auto June 2024 Sales: 2W and CV</h2>

<p>The combined domestic sales of 2Ws and CVs increased by 8% year-on-year to 2.16 lakh units in June 2024. On the other side, the exports grew by a modest 1% with&nbsp;1.42 lakh 2Ws and CVs shipped.&nbsp;Bajaj sold a total of 3.58 lakh units in June 2024,&nbsp;up 5% from 3.41 lakh units sold in the same period the previous year.</p>

<h2>Upcoming Launches</h2>

<p>Bajaj is set to launch its first-ever CNG bike in India on July 5.&nbsp;According to earlier spy photographs,&nbsp;the bike will probably come in two configurations.&nbsp;The standard model could have bulb indicators, a long, flat seat, a circular LED headlight, and a flyscreen.&nbsp;The more aggressive model may benefit from knuckle protectors and a braced handlebar.&nbsp;</p>

<p>While the mechanical specs of the country's first-ever CNG motorcycle are currently unknown,&nbsp;industry reports indicate that it would probably have a sloper engine,&nbsp;with a displacement between 110 and 125cc. In terms of market competition, the CNG bike won't have any direct rivals, but it will serve as an alternative to models like the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/honda/shine-100/">Honda Shine 100</a>, the TVS Radeon, and the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/hero/splendor-plus/">Hero Splendor Plus</a>.&nbsp;</p>


Bajaj Auto Registers 7% Year-on-Year Domestic 2W Sales Growth in June

Bajaj Auto has revealed its sales numbers for the month of June 2024. It is set to launch the much-awaited CNG bike in India on July 5.

<p>Just a few days ahead of its launch in India, a fresh image of the production-spec Bajaj Pulsar NS400 is out in the public domain. The design is unmistakably Pulsar, meaning&nbsp;that the new Pulsar NS400 is mostly evolutionary&nbsp;compared to the Pulsar NS200. There&nbsp;appears to be the same&nbsp;muscular fuel tank as the smaller NS200, albeit with larger tank extensions. Previous spy and teaser images have shown an LED projector headlight with&nbsp;thunderbolt-shaped daytime running lights (DRLs), as well as LED turn indicators, a gold-plated USD fork, an angular tail section, and an underbelly exhaust.&nbsp;As seen in this&nbsp;image, the motorcycle features a Black colour with red and grey stickers on the tank extensions,&nbsp;wheels, and headlight cowl. In all, the new NS400 looks a lot&nbsp;sportier&nbsp;and more muscular.</p>

<p>In terms of features, the Pulsar NS400&nbsp;will likely offer&nbsp;full-LED lighting,&nbsp;dual-channel ABS, traction control, and a digital instrument cluster with&nbsp;Bluetooth connectivity,&nbsp;call/SMS notifications, and&nbsp;turn-by-turn navigation. A USB charging port is also on the cards.&nbsp;</p>

<h2>Bajaj Pulsar NS400: Suspension, Brakes</h2>

<p>Hardware-wise, the&nbsp;Pulsar NS400 will&nbsp;use the same perimeter frame as the NS200. The suspension setup will comprise&nbsp;an upside-down front fork and a&nbsp;preload-adjustable rear monoshock, while stopping power will likely come from a 320mm&nbsp;disc at the front and a 220mm disc at the rear, both mounted on 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in MRF tyres. The rear tyre will be a fat 140-section unit.&nbsp;</p>

<h2>Bajaj Pulsar NS400: Engine, Output&nbsp;</h2>

Bajaj Pulsar NS400 Looks Production Ready in This Latest Image, Launch on May 3

The Bajaj Pulsar NS400 will use a 373cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that already powers the Bajaj Dominar 400 and the KTM RC 390.

<p>Bajaj Auto is readying to launch its biggest and most powerful Pulsar on May 3 in India – the Pulsar NS400. However, ahead of this, Bajaj has released a teaser video that gives us a brief glimpse at the bike's front fender and alloy wheels. Based on that, the alloy wheel design is expected to be similar to that of the <a href="https://www.autox.com/news/bike-news/bajaj-pulsar-n250-launched-in-india-at-rs-151-lakh-gets-usd-forks-traction-control-abs-modes-and-more-116752/">recently launched Pulsar N250</a>. One can also see fat tyres, a rear disc brake, and a&nbsp;single side-mounted tyre hugger. While the exhaust is not visible in the teaser, there is a possibility that the Pulsar NS400 may get an&nbsp;underbelly exhaust.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Bajaj Auto has released its sales figures for April 2023. Last month, this Pune-based Indian two-wheeler manufacturer sold 1,81,828 units in the domestic market, representing a massive 95 per cent year-on-year (YoY) increase. However, its exports fell by 44 per cent year-on-year to 1,06,157 units. Further, in terms of&nbsp;month-over-month (MoM) growth, there was a&nbsp;19.3 per cent increase. While the company sold 1,52,287 units in March of this year, its domestic sales in April of 2022 were 93,233 units. In terms of exports, Bajaj Auto saw a 12 per cent MoM increase but a staggering 44 per cent YoY decline.&nbsp;The table below shows&nbsp;the detailed&nbsp;sales figures&nbsp;for the bikemaker's April performance.</p>

<p>With a net profit of Rs 5,628 crore, Bajaj Auto recently reported its FY23 results, marking the company's best-ever financial performance. The all-new Bajaj Pulsar N160, with a starting price of Rs 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), has also begun to arrive at dealerships. The 2023 Bajaj Pulsar's updates may appear minor, but they help the bike meet new emission standards while also preparing the engine for future blended fuels. The new Bajaj Pulsar N160 is available in three colours: Brooklyn Black, Racing Red, and Caribbean Blue. Furthermore, the dual-channel ABS version is only available in the Brooklyn Black colourway.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The bike's onboard diagnostic system continuously monitors emissions and alerts the driver via dashboard indicators if there is a problem. The motorcycle also runs on E20 fuel, which is a 20% ethanol/petrol mixture. Meanwhile, the 164.82cc air/oil-cooled single-cylinder engine is still listed under mechanical specifications. This motor produces a maximum power output of 15.68bhp at 8,750rpm and a peak torque of 14.65Nm at 6,750rpm when coupled to a five-speed gearbox.</p>

The dual-channel ABS, on the other hand, benefits from the 300mm front disc brake and the relatively larger 37mm forks. The original styling of the Bajaj Pulsar N160 is retained, including a single-pod projector-style headlight with twin DRLs, a body-coloured headlamp cowl, a colour-coordinated front fender, an engine cowl, and split-style seats. The motorcycle also features a compact exhaust canister and 17-inch alloy wheels, as well as bolted fuel tank shrouds that give it a more muscular appearance. The feature set is also unchanged.
