<h2>Triumph Thruxton 400: Engine, Hardware</h2>

<p>Based on the same platform as the company's 400cc range (Speed T4, Speed 400, Scrambler 400X), the Thruxton 400 should come with a&nbsp;399cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that makes&nbsp;39.5bhp and 37.5Nm of peak torque. <p>And it isn’t shabby to ride either. In fact, it’s an extraordinary motorcycle for Indian road conditions. Its newly developed 398cc 4-valve single-cylinder engine offers enough oomph – it produces 39.5bhp and 37.5Nm of torque, which, thanks to its beautifully calibrated ride-by-wire throttle, results in snappy acceleration and squeaky-clean tractability. The engine loves to be revved, although it does feel a bit buzzy in the mid-range – 4,000rpm to 7,000rpm. Is that a deal breaker? Absolutely not!</p>

<p>On the road, the Triumph offers a fine balance – its setup is such that it feels confident enough to go sniffing apexes, but at the same time, it’s not overly firm or bumpy over potholes during your daily commute. After riding it on the track, Simran claimed that it felt more or less complete for the motorcycle of its kind – he only wished for a stronger bite from the brakes.</p>
