Volkswagen India has come out with the new&nbsp;Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition, which will be available in limited numbers. Priced at Rs 16.30 lakh (ex-showroom), the limited-edition Taigun is based on the GT trim. Powering the Volkswagen&nbsp;Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition is a BS6 Phase II-compliant 1.5-litre TSI EVO engine that is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. This engine is capable of churning out 148bhp and 250Nm of peak torque. Since it is a special edition, there are cosmetic updates made to the Trail Edition. The blacked-out elements&nbsp;include&nbsp;roof rails, outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs) with bold red garnish, as well as 17-inch Belmont alloy wheels. To set it apart from others, there is a 'Trail' badge on the tailgate. Other styling bits include red-finished front brake callipers, body decals, chrome accents around the grille, 'infinity' taillights, etc.&nbsp;

There are 3 exterior paint options to choose from:&nbsp;Candy White, Reflex Silver, and Carbon Steel Grey. Moving inside, the Trail Edition offers black seat upholstery with contrasting red stitching and the 'Trail' embossed on the backrest. Furthermore, it gets red ambient lighting and aluminium pedals.&nbsp;

Like the Taigun GT, the Trail Edition features a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto/Apple CarPlay connectivity, automatic headlamps, a multi-functional steering wheel,&nbsp;a dashcam with a 2.0-inch LCD display, a rear camera, wireless phone charging, a tyre pressure monitoring system, ESC, and illuminated puddle lamps.&nbsp;

<h2>Volkswagen Taigun Prices Hiked&nbsp;</h2>

Earlier this month, Volkswagen&nbsp;revised the price of the Taigun SUV in India.&nbsp;While the exact reason behind this price revision is not known, rising input costs, perhaps, is the most likely reason. The Taigun is offered in Comfortline, Highline, Topline, GT, GT Plus, GT Edge, and GT Plus Edge trim options.&nbsp;The Volkswagen Taigun GT Plus 1.5 TSI DSG, the petrol variant in the Taigun lineup, is now more expensive&nbsp;by Rs 25,000 and is offered at Rs 19.06 lakh, whereas the GT 1.5 TSI with DSG transmission costs Rs 16.99 lakh, which is an increase of Rs 19,900. All prices are ex-showroom.&nbsp;Additionally, the Indian arm of the German&nbsp;manufacturer&nbsp;also raised the prices of the GT 1.5 TSI MT and the Highline 1.0 TSI MT variants&nbsp;by Rs 4,000, while the Highline 1.0 TSI with automatic transmission is dearer by Rs 9,000.
