However, at 54 units, the exports reflected a staggering 28% YoY drop.&nbsp;Tata Motors recorded a 9.26% increase in EV sales, selling 5,202 units. Notably, the domestic automaker's EV lineup includes Tiago.ev, Tigor.ev, Punch.ev, Nexon.ev, and Curvv.ev. In contrast, the ICE portfolio has the Harrier, Safari, and Altroz.&nbsp;

In terms of commercial vehicles (CVs), Tata Motors saw a 1% year-over-year decrease in the domestic market, with 26,183 units sold.&nbsp;For comparison, the company delivered 26,579 in November 2023. Overall, the company's CV sales fell 1% year on year to 27,636 units in November 2024, from 28,029 in November 2023.

<h2>Other Highlights</h2>

The Tata Tiago hatchback has sold over 6 lakh units in India within only eight and a half years of its launch. According to SIAM wholesale figures, 5.96 lakh units were sold by the end of October 2024, just 3,339 units shy of the milestone.&nbsp;The remaining units were probably delivered in the first three weeks of November, based on an average of 4,546 Tiagos sold each month from August to October 2024.&nbsp;The Tata Tiago is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 85bhp and 113Nm, which is paired to either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed automatic transmission. The hatchback is also available in CNG and electric versions.

At a recent investors' meeting, Tata Motors revealed that the highly-anticipated Sierra SUV will make its grand debut here in the second half of next year.&nbsp;The car will be available in two configurations: internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric. The latter will hit our market first, followed by the former possibly a month later.&nbsp;The Tata Sierra EV, which was shown as a concept that appeared to be nearing production over two years ago, is likely to be based on Tata's acti.ev architecture,&nbsp;which also supports the Curvv EV and the Punch EV. For the uninitiated, the electric concept that debuted at Auto Expo 2020 was based on Altroz's ALFA platform.

Punch, Nexon, Tiago and More Help Tata Motors Register 2% YoY Domestic Sales Growth in November

In the domestic market, Tata Motors’ PV sales reached 47,063 units, up 2.16% from 46,068 units sold the year before.

Tata Motors experienced reduced sales across multiple categories in August 2024.&nbsp;It sold 71,693 units (domestic and international) in total last month,&nbsp;which was considerably less than the previous year's 78,010 units.&nbsp;Out of the total, the company delivered 70,006 units in the domestic market, representing a drop of 8% year-on-year from the 76,261 units sold in August 2023.&nbsp;Talking about the passenger vehicles,&nbsp;the manufacturer supplied 44,142 units domestically and 44,486 units overall, both showing a decrease of 3% year-on-year.&nbsp;It sold 5,935 electric vehicles in August of this year,&nbsp;registering a reduction of 5% from the previous year's 6,236 EVs. <h2>Tata Motors August 2024 Sales: More Highlights</h2>

The domestic automaker's overall commercial sales decreased by 15% year-on-year to 27,207 units.&nbsp;In the home market, the sales also fell 16% year-on-year.&nbsp;For comparison, the manufacturer sold 25,864 CVs&nbsp;in the domestic market last month,&nbsp;compared to 25,864 CVs sold in August last year.

Following the launch of the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/tata/curvv-ev/">Curvv EV</a> last month,&nbsp;Tata Motors has now introduced the SUV Coupe's ICE edition in India.&nbsp;The model costs between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 17.7 lakh (ex-showroom) and&nbsp;is available in two turbo-petrol and one diesel engine configuration. The&nbsp;1.2-litre Turbo-petrol unit churns out 118bhp and 170Nm, while the new&nbsp;1.2-litre T-GDi Turbo-petrol mill delivers&nbsp;123bhp and 225Nm, which&nbsp;is 5bhp and 55Nm more than the former. Talking of the Curvv EV's specifications,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/tata/">Tata</a> provides two battery choices (45kWh and 55kWh)&nbsp;and a liquid-cooled Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMS) for the vehicle.&nbsp;Though the torque of 215Nm remains&nbsp;the same across both versions,&nbsp;the power rating stands at 148bhp in the smaller battery&nbsp;and 165bhp in the larger battery.&nbsp;The range of these battery packs is 502 kilometres&nbsp;(45kWh) and 585 kilometres (55kWh), respectively. Price-wise, the Curvv EV&nbsp;retails between Rs 17.49 lakh&nbsp;and Rs 21.99 lakh (both ex-showroom).&nbsp;

Tata Motors Total PV Domestic Sales Decline 3% Year-on-Year in August

Tata Motors has released its sales figures for August 2024. The carmaker supplied 44,142 PVs domestically last month, registering a year-on-year decline of 3%.

The company sold 44,954 passenger cars last month, a decrease from 47,689 units sold in 2023. This represented a 6% drop in sales for the car manufacturer. Furthermore, the carmaker announced it sold 44,725 units in the Indian domestic PV market last month, a 6% decrease from the 47,628 cars it sold in the same month last year. However, the automaker's export figures grew significantly to 229 units in July this year, up from 61 units in the same month last year. This represents a 275% increase in the brand's PV export figures.&nbsp;

<h2>Tata Motors Sales Figures: July 2024</h2>

Tata Motors dominates the majority of the Indian electric passenger vehicle market – roughly 85% – thanks to models like the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/tata/nexon-ev/">Nexon EV</a>, <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/tata/tiago-ev/">Tiago EV</a>, <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/tata/punch-ev/">Punch EV</a>, and <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/tata/tigor-ev/">Tigor EV</a>. However, sales of the automaker's electric vehicles decreased last month, in addition to the cars powered by petrol and diesel. With 5,027 units sold domestically and internationally, the manufacturer saw a double-digit fall in sales. The company's sales decreased by 21% in July 2023, with 6,329 units sold (including data from both domestic and international sales).

The drop in Tata Motors' electric car sales coincides with a global trend of declining retail sales of electric vehicles. This has caused concern among automakers that have made significant investments in battery electric propulsion technology, with an eye toward the rapidly evolving market where EVs have gained traction in recent years.

<h2>Tata Curvv, Curvv EV Launch Soon</h2>

Tata Motors has unveiled the production-spec <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/tata/curvv/">Curvv</a> in both ICE and EV variants. The costs for the EV will be announced first, on August 7, followed by the ICE variant later. The Curvv SUV Coupe looks surprisingly similar to the Nexon from the front. The electric Curvv, like the Punch.ev, features a charging flap in the front and several vertical design elements on the lower bumper.&nbsp;

In comparison, the ICE version sports thinner horizontal components on the lower bumper and front. The <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/tata/curvv-ev/">Curvv EV</a> has a closed-off, body-coloured grille, while the ICE model has an all-black grille. Both versions have connected LED DRLs, aerodynamic alloy wheels, flush-style door handles (a first for a Tata vehicle), and an all-LED headlight design. With its bigger dimensions and steep roofline, the Curvv distinguishes itself from the Nexon in the rear. The Coupe's connected LED taillight setup is present in both variants.

Tata Motors YoY Sales Declines 11% in July at 71,996 Units, PVs Register 6% Dip

Tata Motors announced it sold 44,725 units in the Indian domestic PV market last month, a 6% decrease from the 47,628 cars it sold in the same month last year.

<a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/tata/">Tata Motors</a> reported its June sales figures after the market closed on Monday. The company's total domestic sales for June were 74,147 units, an 8 percent&nbsp;decrease from the previous month's sales of 80,383 vehicles. Total commercial vehicle sales fell 7 per cent to 31,980 units, compared to 34,414 units delivered in June last year. Moreover, last month, sales of electric vehicles (EVs) fell by a staggering 34 percent&nbsp;year-over-year (YoY), totalling 4,657 units. Talking about&nbsp;the April-June quarter, EV sales decreased by 14 percent&nbsp;to 16,579 units, while total passenger car sales declined&nbsp;by 1 percent&nbsp;to about&nbsp;1.38 lakh&nbsp;units. The carmaker&nbsp;attributed nationwide heat waves and the recent&nbsp;general elections to the low sales figures.

Commenting on the latest sales performance,&nbsp;Girish Wagh, Executive Director, Tata Motors Ltd. said, 'Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles domestic sales at 87,615 units in Q1 FY25 were ~7 per cent&nbsp;higher than Q1 FY24 sales. Additionally, sales in June 2024 were ~3 per cent&nbsp;higher compared to May 2024. Going forward, the forecast of a healthy monsoon, expectations of policy continuity and continuing thrust on infra related developmental projects by the Government are expected to improve the demand for commercial vehicles. The demand in staff, intercity, and stage carriage segments should also remain healthy despite the seasonal dip often seen in school transportation in Q2. The company sold 73,800 electric vehicles&nbsp;(EVs) in FY2024 compared to 50,000 units in FY2023; this is a 48 per cent&nbsp;year-over-year (YoY) growth. By FY2026, Tata Motors&nbsp;intends to introduce four new EVs in India: the Curvv EV, Harrier EV, Sierra EV, and Avinya EV. Last month, Tata Motor's total commercial vehicle sales fell 7 per cent to 31,980 units, compared to 34,414 units delivered in June last year. Moreover, sales of electric vehicles (EVs) fell by a staggering 34 per cent year-over-year (YoY), totalling 4,657 units.

Tata Motors's electric division has surpassed the 1.50 lakh-unit sales milestone in the Indian market. This comes after two of its electric vehicles&nbsp;– the Nexon EV and the Punch EV – secured&nbsp;a 5-star safety rating in the most recent round of Bharat NCAP crash test results. Based on the same platform as other Tata EVs, the electrified Harrier could pack a&nbsp;60kWh battery pack, yielding a 400 to 500km range. Tata's&nbsp;Harrier EV&nbsp;was recently spotted testing in India, indicating that the upcoming EV will get an all-wheel drive option with electric motors&nbsp;– one on the front&nbsp;and another on the rear axle.&nbsp;Upon arrival, the Tata Harrier EV will lock horns with the BYD Atto 3 and the upcoming Mahindra XUV.e8.&nbsp;

Like the Harrier EV, the other two EVs&nbsp;– Sierra EV, and Avinya EV&nbsp;– will likely come with an electric all-wheel-drive system. The&nbsp;Tata Avinya EV will ride on JLR’s shared EMA (Electric Modular Architecture) platform, while the&nbsp;Sierra EV is expected to use the company's new acti.ev architecture.&nbsp;

<h2>Tata Curvv</h2>

The Curvv is anticipated to go on sale soon, although an official launch date has not yet been disclosed. The EV variant will arrive followed by the ICE version. The former (EV) is expected to be available in both single and dual-motor versions, with front- or all-wheel drive options and a range of 400 to 500 kilometres on a single charge.&nbsp;On the other hand, the latter (ICE version) will likely have the same powertrain choices as the Nexon, which consist of a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine (113bhp/260Nm) and a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol unit (18bhp/170Nm).&nbsp;The transmission options comprise a 6-speed AMT, a 6-speed manual, and a 7-speed DCT. In terms of price, the petrol-powered Curvv may cost between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 11 lakh, while the EV variant could fetch a higher price tag of Rs 20 lakh.

<h2>Tata Altroz Racer</h2>

The new hatchback will be launched in India on June 7, with a slew of cosmetic and interior enhancements over the standard Altroz. According to the leaked specifications, it will employ the same 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine as the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/tata/nexon/">Tata Nexon</a>. The transmission, however, will only be a 6-speed manual.

The hatchback will have a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, six airbags, a 360-degree surround camera, voice-activated sunroof, rear AC vents, a wireless charger, a heads-up display, and ventilated front seats, among other amenities.

<h2>Tata Nexon iCNG</h2>

The Nexon CNG is expected to be available in India soon, featuring the same design as its petrol/diesel counterpart, albeit with a few CNG-specific changes. Mechanically, the vehicle will be equipped with a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a factory-installed twin-cylinder CNG kit. Though power and torque ratings are yet to be provided, they are expected to be lower than the petrol-powered model (118bhp and 170Nm).

Punch, Nexon, and More Assist Tata Motors Record 2% YoY Domestic Sales Growth in May

Tata Motors has released its sales figures for May 2024. It is all set to introduce the much-awaited Tata Altroz Racer in India on June 7.

In the ever-growing SUV segment, Tata Motors continues to face&nbsp;stiff&nbsp;competition from major manufacturers like Mahindra &amp; Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, and Hyundai Motor India Limited.&nbsp;The company&nbsp;has recently revealed that its total wholesales rose 11.5 per cent YoY&nbsp;to 77,521 units last month as compared to&nbsp;69,599 units in April 2023.&nbsp;According to an official&nbsp;statement, Tata Motor's&nbsp;total domestic deliveries increased by 12 per cent&nbsp;to 76,399 units last month from 68,514 units in April 2023. <h2>Tata Motors Sales Figures: April 2024</h2>

In April 2024, Tata Motors sold 47,983 passenger vehicles. This comprises passenger cars sold in the&nbsp;local market and those exported by the company. It&nbsp;also reflects an increase in total sales by 876 units, corresponding to a 1.85 per cent&nbsp;year-on-year increase in monthly passenger vehicle sales.&nbsp;In April last year, Tata Motors sold 47,107 passenger vehicles (domestic + export).

Furthermore, the manufacturer&nbsp;sold 47,883 passenger cars in the Indian market last month. In April 2023, Tata Motors'&nbsp;domestic passenger vehicle sales stood at&nbsp;47,001 units. As a result, the year-on-year domestic sales have&nbsp;increased&nbsp;by&nbsp;876 units or 1.86 per cent. Tata Motors' edge over most of its competitors is&nbsp;enhanced by its 'New Forever' portfolio, which includes&nbsp;petrol, diesel, CNG,&nbsp;and battery-powered models.&nbsp;Almost 29 per cent&nbsp;of the record 5.83 lakh&nbsp;unit sales in FY2024 came from CNG and EV cars.

The gearbox options include a 6-speed manual, 6-speed AMT, and 7-speed DCT.&nbsp;The Curvv EV, on the other hand, is expected to come in both single and dual-motor configurations, with the choice of front-wheel or all-wheel drive. It is expected&nbsp;to have a range of 400-500 km&nbsp;on a single charge.

Nexon, Punch and More Help Tata Motors Register 11.5% YoY Sales Growth in April

Tata Motors claims that its total domestic deliveries increased by 12 per cent to 76,399 units last month from 68,514 units in April 2023.

Tata Motors Group has recorded&nbsp;global wholesales&nbsp;of&nbsp;over 3.77 lakh&nbsp;units in Q4 FY24. This marks an&nbsp;8 per cent growth&nbsp;compared to the Q4 FY23 sales figures. The global sales of the entire&nbsp;Tata Motors commercial vehicle and Tata Daewoo range stood at&nbsp;around&nbsp;1.11 lakh&nbsp;units in Q4 FY24, 6 per cent&nbsp;less than the same period the previous year. In Q4 FY24, the firm&nbsp;delivered&nbsp;more than 1.55 lakh&nbsp;passenger vehicles globally, registering a 15 per cent&nbsp;increase over Q4 FY23. With a sales&nbsp;growth&nbsp;of 16 per cent,&nbsp;Jaguar Land Rover (JLR)&nbsp;sold around&nbsp;1.10 lakh&nbsp;units&nbsp;worldwide. Notably,&nbsp;Jaguar wholesales during the quarter were 13,528 cars, while Land Rover sold&nbsp;96,662 units.&nbsp;

JLR India recorded retail sales of 4,436 units for the entire year that concluded on March 31, 2024. This&nbsp;is a record high for the company in the previous five years. It grew by 81 per cent&nbsp;in the previous year. With yearly growth&nbsp;of 160 per cent&nbsp;and 120 per cent, respectively, Range Rover and Defender retail sales witnessed a significant&nbsp;rise. Furthermore, the MY2024&nbsp;Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque saw&nbsp;year-over-year (YoY) growth of 50 per cent&nbsp;and 55 per cent, respectively. The fourth quarter's total retail sales were 854 units, a 43 per cent&nbsp;increase over the previous year.

It now sells seven PVs (Altroz, Tigor, Tiago, Punch, Harrier, and Safari) in the home market.&nbsp;Concurrently, Tata sold 6,979 electric vehicles in January 2024, up 69 per cent from 4,133 EVs sold in the same month the previous year. The producer remained the third-biggest automobile maker in India based on volume in January.&nbsp;

Regarding global operations, Tata Motors saw a 33 per cent YoY increase in January 2024 with the export of 1,449 CVs.&nbsp;In comparison to January 2023, when it sold 81,069 automobiles, Tata Motors Limited sold 86,125 vehicles in total in January 2024 in domestic and overseas markets, a YoY increase of 6.2 per cent.&nbsp;

<h2>Tata Motors Pavillion at the Bharat Mobility Show 2024</h2>

In other news, Tata Motors showcased a range of products at the recently concluded Bharat Mobility Show. These models comprised the Harrier EV Concept, the Altroz Racer, the Nexon EV Dark, the Curvv SUV, and the Nexon i-CNG.&nbsp;

The grille is blanked out and has a black finish instead of the original body colour. Additionally, a newly installed air vent is located between the housing number plate and the grille.&nbsp;The Curvv has dimensions of 1,810mm in width, 1,630mm in height, and 4,308mm in length. The car has a 422-litre storage and a 2,560mm wheelbase.

Regarding features, the Curvv is expected to have a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo in the center, a panoramic sunroof, a 10.25-inch digital driver's display, air purifier, ventilated front seats, a premium audio system, a wireless charging pad, and more.&nbsp;

Another highlight of the Tata stand was <a href="https://www.autox.com/news/car-news/bharat-mobilityexpo-tata-harrier-ev-concept-showcased-in-india-ahead-of-upcoming-launch-116016/">the Harrier EV concept</a>.&nbsp;It is built on Tata's acti.ev Gen 2 EV architecture, which is also the foundation for the recently released Tata Punch.ev. The internal combustion engine-powered SUV's Omega platform and the new architecture work together to provide an all-wheel-drive system and interior changes.&nbsp;

The carmaker has&nbsp;not yet provided any technical information. It is known, nevertheless, that the next Harrier electric SUV will include a dual-motor all-wheel drive system. In terms of&nbsp;the battery pack, anticipate that the SUV will have a 60kWh battery&nbsp;that will provide a 400–500 kilometre&nbsp;range. Comfort&nbsp;features and technologies like vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) will also be available with the car. Tata Motors has reported total domestic sales of&nbsp;76,138 units&nbsp;in December 2023, up 4 per cent YoY (year-over-year). In comparison, the Indian automaker sold 72,997 units in December 2022. Quarter-wise, the company's overall sales (domestic and&nbsp;international market) for Q3 FY2023-24 stood at 2,34,981 units, compared to 2,28,169 units during Q3 FY2022-23.&nbsp;

Of 76,138 units sold in the domestic&nbsp;market, the company's total passenger vehicle sales in December 2023 were 43,470 units (inclusive of electric vehicles), constituting a 9&nbsp;per cent increase over 40,043 units sold in December 2022. In the third quarter of the current financial year, the company recorded wholesales of 1,38,455 vehicles, up 5 per cent over the 1,32,255 units the company sold in&nbsp;Q3 FY2023.&nbsp;

For Tata Motors, this is the third&nbsp;instance of the highest-ever yearly sales. In terms of total EV sales, Tata Motors registered a growth of 21 per cent in Q3 FY2024&nbsp;as against Q3 FY2023. The continued popularity of the Tiago EV, supported by the launch of the new Nexon EV, powered EV sales to 15,232 units in Q3 FY2024 from&nbsp;12,596 vehicles in Q3 FY2023. Besides,&nbsp;an "excellent market response"&nbsp;to the facelifted versions of the Nexon, Harrier, and Safari&nbsp;was also instrumental in achieving 8 per cent of PV sales growth.&nbsp;

Mr Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., 
said, "The PV industry is expected to post its highest ever sales in the calendar year 2023 (CY23), crossing the significant 4 
million mark, supported by a strong supply situation, new nameplates launched in the SUV segment, and robust demand 
during the longer festive period. Coming off a high base, the industry recorded a single-digit growth overall with the key 
highlight of this moderate rise being the sharp growth registered in emission-friendly product categories. Both EV and CNG 
segments posted growth greater than 90% and 25% respectively, signalling a growing preference for green and smart 
technologies by Indian customers".

"Our strong focus on retail sales during the quarter resulted in Vahan registrations significantly rising by ~14% vs Q3FY23 and ~24% vs Q2FY24. We significantly strengthened our market position, reduced channel stock sharply and received an excellent market response to the new avatars of the Nexon, Harrier and Safari, launched during the quarter".&nbsp;

"Going forward, with multiple new products, including a new nameplate scheduled for launch in CY2024, we remain optimistic 
about continuing the growth trend in the quarters ahead."
