Launched with the aim of offering a compact yet powerful <a href="https://www.autox.com/suv-cars-in-india/">SUV</a> option, the Punch has quickly garnered attention for its stylish design, strong performance, and robust features. The latest achievement reflects the combined production of Tata Punch's petrol, CNG, and electric variants. The petrol variant is priced between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 9.72 lakh, while the petrol-CNG variant is available from Rs 7.30 lakh to Rs 10 lakh. The <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/tata/punch-ev/">Punch EV</a> is offered within a price range of Rs 9.99 lakh to Rs 14.44 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom. When it comes to the EV version, buyers can choose from 5 variants: Smart, Smart +, Adventure, Empowered, and Empowered+.</p><p>As far as colour options are concerned, the ICE model can be had in about 12 paint jobs, including Atomic Orange, Tornado Blue, Orcus White, Daytona Grey, Meteor Bronze, Calypso Red with White roof, Tropical Mist with Black Roof, and Seaweed Green with White roof. Meanwhile, the electrified Punch is offered in 5 exterior shades - Seawood Green, Daytona Grey, Fearless Red, Pristine White, and Empowered Oxide.</p><h2>Tata Punch, Punch EV: Mechanical Core</h2><p>The Tata Punch is powered by a 1.2-litre three-cylinder naturally aspirated (NA) petrol engine, known as the Revotron. This engine produces 86.63bhp of maximum power at 6,000rpm and 115Nm of peak torque at 3,250rpm, and is available with either a five-speed manual or a five-speed automatic transmission.</p><p>

  <p><br></p><p>In its CNG variant, the same 1.2-litre engine delivers 72bhp and 103Nm of torque, with the CNG version exclusively paired with a five-speed manual gearbox. Similar to the Altroz CNG, the Punch CNG features a dual-cylinder configuration located in the boot for efficient storage.</p><p>The Tata Punch EV offers two powertrain choices: Medium Range (MR) and Long Range (LR). The MR version is equipped with a 25kWh battery that delivers a range of 315km (MIDC), while the LR variant features a larger 35kWh battery offering a range of 421km (MIDC) on a single charge. Both versions are paired with permanent magnet synchronous motors, though the MR variant produces less power at 81bhp compared to the LR’s 120bhp. With 81bhp and 114Nm of torque, the Punch EV MR can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 13.5 seconds, while the LR variant achieves the same in 9.5 seconds, delivering 120bhp and 190Nm of torque.</p>
  <h2>Tata Punch, Punch EV: Features</h2><p>In terms of features, the Tata Punch SUV comes equipped with a 10.25-inch touchscreen that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cruise control, and automatic climate control. It also offers a 7-inch semi-digital instrument cluster, a USB Type-C fast charger, a wireless phone charger, a grand console with&nbsp;an armrest, and rear air conditioning vents. It also provides an optional electric sunroof, a jewelled rotary drive selector (exclusive to LR variants), ventilated front seats, connected car technology, automatic climate control, cruise control, a wireless charger, and an air purifier. Safety features on the Punch EV include six airbags, ABS, and ESC as standard, along with a 360-degree camera, blind spot monitor, ISOFIX mounts, three-point seatbelts for all passengers, and an electronic parking brake with auto-hold.</p>

Tata Punch SUV Crosses 5 Lakh Unit Production Milestone in India

The Tata Punch became India’s best-selling car last year, surpassing Maruti Suzuki, which had dominated the sales charts for over four decades.

<p>The Tata Punch maintained its position as the best-selling SUV in April 2024. Last month, it sold 19,158 units, up 75.21% year-on-year from 10,934 units in April 2023. The Tata SUV is offered in three different powertrain options: ICE, CNG, and electric. Its ICE version is set to receive a revamp next year. The Punch's revamped fascia, according to the previous spy images,&nbsp;will likely have a new grille, revised headlight housing, and LED DRLs, similar to its electric counterpart. Except for the new alloy wheels, the side profile is unlikely to change. There could be slight alterations to the rear, such as a new bumper.&nbsp;Although the new SUV will take some time to be on the market, let's have a look at how the current model fared in the previous month's sales chart in comparison to other models.</p>

<p>In April, the Tata Punch became the best-selling vehicle and <a href="https://www.autox.com/suv-cars-in-india/">SUV</a> altogether.&nbsp;The petrol-powered model costs Rs 6.13 lakh, while the electric version costs Rs 10.99 lakh. These are the starting and ex-showroom prices.</p>

<h2>Maruti Suzuki Brezza</h2>

<p>Following the Punch, the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/maruti-suzuki/brezza/">Brezza</a> emerged as the second top-selling SUV on the list.&nbsp;Maruti Suzuki delivered 17,113 units of the Brezza in April, a YoY increase of 45% over last year's 11,836 units. The ex-showroom <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/maruti-suzuki/brezza/price-in-new-delhi/">price range for the Brezza</a> is Rs 8.34 lakh to Rs 14.14 lakh. It comes with a 1.5-litre petrol engine that can be mated to either a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. There's also a CNG option available.</p>

<h2>Hyundai Creta</h2>

<p>With 15,447 sold, the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/hyundai/creta/">Hyundai Creta</a> was the third best-seller in the SUV segment last month. Its sales&nbsp;increased 9% year-on year from 14,186 units sold in April 2023.&nbsp;The <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/hyundai/creta/price-in-new-delhi/">Hyundai Creta is priced</a> between Rs 11 lakh and Rs 20.15 lakh (both prices, ex-showroom). It has three engine options: a 1.5-litre normally aspirated (NA) petrol engine, a 1.5-litre diesel engine, and a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine.</p>

<h2>Mahindra Scorpio</h2>

<p>The <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/mahindra/scorpio-n/">Mahindra Scorpio N</a> ranked fourth on the list. It recorded 53.97% growth year-on-year, with 14,807 units sold in April this year. The Scorpio Classic is priced at Rs 13.59 lakh, while the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/mahindra/scorpio-n/price-in-new-delhi/">Scorpio-N costs</a> Rs 13.60 lakh. Both are ex-showroom and beginning prices. In February, Mahindra added a new, reasonable <a href="https://www.autox.com/news/car-news/mahindra-scorpio-n-z8-select-variant-launched-in-india-at-rs-1699-lakh-116263/">Z8 Select variant to the Scorpio-N</a> SUV range in India. The pricing ranges from Rs 16.99 lakh to Rs 18.99 lakh (ex-showroom).</p>

<h2>Maruti Suzuki Fronx</h2>

<p>With an impressive yearly growth rate of 62.64%, the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/maruti-suzuki/fronx/">Maruti Suzuki Fronx</a> emerged as the fifth highest-selling SUV. The Indo-Japanese company delivered 14,286 Fronx units in April 2024, compared to 8,784 units sold in April 2023. The price of the Fronx ranges from Rs 7.52 lakh to Rs 13.04 lakh. It offers two engine options: a 1-litre&nbsp;turbo-petrol and a 1.2-litre&nbsp;Dualjet petrol.</p>


Tata Punch Beats Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Mahindra Scorpio and More to Become Best-selling SUV in April

<p><em><strong>Tata has achieved yet another milestone and this time with the Punch SUV.</strong></em></p>

<p>Tata has rolled out the 100,000th unit of the Punch SUV from its plant in Pune, just 10 months after the car was launched in the Indian market. The car also registered a sales figure of 11,007 units in July, which means that on average the company sold nearly 10,000 units of the punch every month.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Punch has surpassed most of its close rivals, although they are not in the same segment,&nbsp;by a fair margin. The <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/renault/kiger/">Kiger </a>has been one of the best-selling cars for Nissan. It reached the 50,000 units milestone in July 2022, almost 18 months after its launch. Similarly, Nissan achieved the same number as the <a href="https://www.autox.com/?s=Nissan+Magnite">Magnite </a>in 15 months.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Considering that its price starts at Rs 5.97 lakh (ex-showroom), which is similar to the price range of a segment above, the car has enjoyed impressive success. One of the major highlights of&nbsp;the car is the 5-star safety rating that it scored in the Global NCAP crash test, which also seems to have influenced a lot of customers' decisions in its favour.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/tata/punch/">Tata Punch</a> is powered by a 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, which puts out 85bhp and 113Nm of torque through either a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In terms of features, the Punch’s top-spec Creative trim comes with a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It also gets a 7.0-inch semi-digital instrument cluster, a rearview camera, automatic projector headlamps, LED daytime running lamps, automatic climate control, rain-sensing wipers, and 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. &nbsp;</p>
