Volkswagen India has launched&nbsp;the Taigun GT Line and Taigun GT Plus Sport variants with&nbsp;a sporty black theme. The Taigun GT Line with a&nbsp;1.0-litre TSI engine retails for&nbsp;Rs 14.08 lakh,&nbsp;whereas&nbsp;the cost of the Taigun GT Plus Sport is Rs 18.53 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom. These models, with visually distinct characters, are part of the newly formed Sport line&nbsp;and were unveiled in March at the Volkswagen Annual Brand Conference 2024.&nbsp;According to Volkswagen, both the new Taigun GT Line and GT Sport Plus will get a complementary four-year service value package, including benefits on several&nbsp;after-sales services. Deliveries for both models will commence this month. The SUV faces competition from the likes of the Skoda Kushaq, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki&nbsp;Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Honda Elevate, and Hyundai Urban Cruiser.

<h2>Volkswagen Taigun GT Line, GT Plus Sport: Exterior and Interior Layout</h2>

Both <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/volkswagen/taigun/">the Taigun</a> GT Line and GT Sport Plus belong to the Sport range&nbsp;and have received cosmetic upgrades, including blacked-out exterior&nbsp;design&nbsp;elements. However, there are notable differences both internally&nbsp;and externally between the two models. The GT Sport Plus now gets a sunroof and a contrasting grey roof, along with updated badging and red brake callipers. Other styling features include&nbsp;smoked LED headlights, a Carbon Steel Grey root, and&nbsp;dark chrome door handles. Furthermore, the SUV rides on&nbsp;17-inch alloy wheels.

While both cars&nbsp;sport&nbsp;an all-black&nbsp;interior theme, there are differences between the two. The GT Sport Plus gets complete leatherette seats, while the GT Line combines leatherette upholstery and fabric.&nbsp;The GT Sport Plus trim is also equipped with metallic pedals, red stitching on the steering wheel, and seats with embroidered GT Logos.

<h2>Volkswagen Taigun GT Line, GT Plus Sport: Engine Options</h2>

The Taigun GT Line is powered by&nbsp;the 1.0-litre three-cylinder TSI turbo-petrol engine, which develops 113bhp of maximum power&nbsp;and 178Nm of peak torque and is mated to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. In contrast, the GT Sport Plus gets a 1.5-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine, which produces 250Nm of torque and 148bhp of peak power and is mated to either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission.

The GT Line with the smaller 1.0-litre&nbsp;TSI engine now allows customers to opt for the sportier styling package, which was earlier available only with the larger 1.5-litre TSI engine.

In addition to the Taigun GT Line and&nbsp;GT Plus Sport,&nbsp;Volkswagen has also <a href="https://www.autox.com/news/car-news/volkswagen-virtus-gt-plus-sport-concept-revealed-alongside-new-taigun-variants-116576/">unveiled the GT Plus version of the Virtus</a>&nbsp;at its annual&nbsp;conference. But the Virtus GT Plus is still in the concept stage for now, with its release anticipated later this year. The brand also announced that it intends to improve its network. Volkswagen&nbsp;plans to grow to 230 sales locations by the end of 2024 in 2023&nbsp;–&nbsp;it had 193 sales locations in the country. Additionally, the number of service touchpoints will increase from 142 to 150. By the end of 2024, the firm&nbsp;aims to extend its presence to a total of 170 cities.
