Volvo Car India has officially confirmed the launch of the EX30 and EX90 electric SUVs in the Indian market by 2025. While the launch timeline has yet to be revealed, here's what we know:

The EX30 is the Swedish carmaker's entry-level EV built on&nbsp;Geely's SEA platform that also underpins the Polestar 4. In the international market, the all-electric SUV comes with three powertrain options and two battery sizes. The base-spec EX30 gets a 267bhp rear-mounted motor with a low-cost 51kWh LFP battery, yielding a claimed range of 342km on a single charge. Then, there is the&nbsp;Single Motor Extended Range variant, which, when using the same motor and a larger 69kWh NMC battery, offers a range of 442km. Meanwhile, the top-spec&nbsp;Twin Motor Performance version, equipped with two electric motors and a 69kWh battery, asserts a range of 426km on a single charge. Volvo claims the most powerful variant can accelerate&nbsp;from 0 to 100km/h in 3.4 seconds, which according to the firm, is faster than any Volvo ever.&nbsp;

With the interior, the EX30 follows a minimalistic approach like the other Volvo cars. It gets a 12.3-inch vertically placed touchscreen, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, and&nbsp;a soundbar running across the width of the dashboard. The four interior theme options are on offer&nbsp;–&nbsp;Breeze, Mist, Pine, and Indigo, all made of&nbsp;different recyclable and renewable materials. There is also a new&nbsp;Park Pilot Assist feature as part of the safety tech.&nbsp;

Design-wise, the Volvo EX30 closely resembles <a href="https://www.autox.com/news/car-news/volvo-ex90-debuts-as-brands-flagship-electric-suv-111788/">the flagship&nbsp;EX90 revealed in 2022</a>. It&nbsp;features a blanked-off grille with a Volvo badge, signature&nbsp;'Thor’s Hammer'&nbsp;headlights, aero-optimised alloy wheels ranging from 18 to 20 inches, and C-shaped LED tail lights. On offer are five colour options: Moss Yellow, Vapour Grey, Onyx Black, Crystal White, and Cloud Blue.

As for the brand's flagship model, there is a 111kWh battery pack&nbsp;with a WLTP&nbsp;range of 600km available. In an all-wheel-drive avatar, the Twin Motor version makes 402bhp and 770Nm, while the Performance variant&nbsp;churns out 509bhp and 910Nm. Regardless of which one you go for, the top speed of 180km/h is the same for both. The single-motor powertrains are also on the cards.&nbsp;

The EX90 is the first model from the Swedish brand to be underpinned by an EV SPA2 architecture, and it gets a three-row seating arrangement. Unlike the&nbsp;EX30, it comes with 22-inch five-spoke alloy wheels; however, the talking point is a 14.5-inch vertically oriented touchscreen&nbsp;that operates on&nbsp;Volvo’s Google-based system. It also features&nbsp;a&nbsp;laser-based surround-view sensing system called LiDAR (standard), along with eight cameras and radar.&nbsp;

Volvo is mulling local assembly of the EX30 and EX90 in India. If that is the case, it will help Volvo achieve competitive pricing for the India-spec electric SUVs.&nbsp;

<h2>Volvo EV Lineup in India&nbsp;</h2>

Currently, Volvo sells the XC40 Recharge and the C40 Recharge in the India EV lineup, priced at Rs 57.90 lakh and Rs 62.95 lakh, respectively. The prices are ex-showroom. Inside, there will likely be only vegan leather seats.&nbsp;The teaser also highlighted the highly creased bonnet side and the striped DRLs. In the teaser, the new Volvo EX30 is displayed from the third rear quarter side. Styling-wise, the upcoming all-electric compact SUV will likely have the company's typical design language. The taillights will boast a signature vertical appearance. On the dimensions front, the SUV could mimic the XC40, but some industry reports claim that it will likely be smaller than that model. A glimpse of the exterior design of the upcoming Volvo EX90 can be seen in a teaser shared by the company, which has already created quite a buzz on the internet ahead of its official launch scheduled for 9th November 2022.&nbsp;This&nbsp;new flagship electric SUV is more than just a replacement for the XC90.

From aerodynamic efficiency to a low drag coefficient value of just 0.29, major changes are expected to be seen in this new <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/volvo/">Volvo </a>vehicle concept. In keeping with the details revealed by the teaser, the vehicle will keep the classic SUV proportions but will have a smooth and rounded approach to the overall exterior. According to the Scandinavian carmaker, the upcoming vehicle draws&nbsp;inspiration from a yacht design.

The EX90 will be introduced with a new lidar system, mounted at the front and the centre of its roofline. The body shape will have short overhangs, and the wheelbase will be increased for more cabin space. It has a skateboard layout, with batteries being placed beneath the flat floor of the SUV.

The EX90 is an updated version of an existing Volvo design, with a vertically-oriented central touchscreen for the infotainment system. It will also have an easy widescreen for the driver’s display. According to a trusted source, the EX90 will possess 16 ultrasonic sensors and eight cameras alongside five radars.

The exterior design teaser has managed to stir the interest of viewers in the upcoming SUV. The final look of the SUV, which is claimed to use 110 pounds of recycled plastics and bio-based matter, is soon to be unveiled. The EX90 is anticipated to roll on Indian roads by 2024.
