<p>As mentioned earlier, the 2025 YZF-R15 retains the same engine as before.&nbsp;The bike is powered by a 155cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine with variable valve actuation technology (VVT). The unit churns out 18.1bhp of maximum power at 10,000rpm and 14.2Nm of peak torque at 8,500rpm. It comes mated to a six-speed gearbox.&nbsp;</p>

<p>On the hardware front, the new R15 sports&nbsp;a monoshock in the&nbsp;back and inverted telescopic forks up front. Besides this, the motorcycle has dual-channel ABS and disc brakes on both ends.&nbsp;The India-spec variant also includes traction control, which is absent on the Indonesian-spec model. <p>For the 2024 model year, Yamaha Motor has launched the all-new R15 V4 in Japan.&nbsp;The 2024 R15 V4 follows the 2024 R125, which was also recently rolled out&nbsp;by the premium bike manufacturer in its domestic market.&nbsp;While keeping the same mechanical specifications, both motorcycles gain new colour options. The fresh&nbsp;Black Metallic 12 paint job for the 2024 R15 V4 appears to be inspired by the bigger R7 bike.&nbsp;The new blacked-out components work well with the available colour option.&nbsp;The retail cost of the new iteration of the R15 V4 in Japan stands at 550,000 Yen (about Rs&nbsp;3.07&nbsp;lakh),&nbsp;making it nearly twice as pricey as the comparable model in India. <h2>Yamaha R3 &amp; MT-03 Showcased in India Ahead of December Launch</h2>

<p>Both of the upcoming bikes are powered by a 321cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine that produces 29.5Nm of peak&nbsp;torque at 9,000rpm and a maximum power output of 41bhp at 10,750rpm. Furthermore, the soon-to-be-released versions come connected&nbsp;to&nbsp;a 6-speed gearbox with a slip and assist clutch.</p>

<p>The R3 mimics Yamaha's larger supersports, like the R7 and the R1, with a fully-faired body, a low-set clip-on, and footpegs that are positioned at the back. The MT-03, on the other hand, borrows design influences from the MT-07 and the MT-09, including a twin-LED headlamp configuration concealed beneath a sizable apron. The bike&nbsp;also sports a&nbsp;traditional muscular profile and a hefty stance. <p>The new Karizma XMR 210 is available in a single variant at a price of Rs 1.73 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). On the other hand, the Yamaha offering is available in multiple trim levels, with prices ranging from Rs 1.81 lakh for the entry-level variant to Rs 1.95 lakh for the top-of-the-line version. <p>Being longer and wider than the R15, the Karizma XMR is a bigger motorcycle – it also weighs 22.5 kilograms more than the R15. Additionally, the wheelbase of the Karizma is longer than that of the R15, so it’s likely to be a bit more stable. Meanwhile, the R15 has 170mm of ground clearance in comparison to the XMR's 160mm. The Karizma's seat is marginally more accessible at 810mm in comparison to the R15's 815mm.</p>

<p>The XMR is powered by a 210cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled four-valve unit, which produces 25.15bhp of maximum power at 9,250rpm and 20.4Nm of peak torque at 7,250rpm. The motor is coupled to a six-speed gearbox, with a slip-and-assist clutch. The R15, on the other hand, gets a 155cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled SOHC four-valve mill with VVA, which produces a maximum torque of 14.2Nm at 7,500rpm and 18.1bhp of peak power at 10,000rpm and is paired with a six-speed gearbox. So, while the Karizma weighs around 22 kilograms more than the R15, it also churns out more power.</p>

<p>The Karizma XMR's suspension system comprises telescopic front forks and a mono-shock. For braking duties, it gets a single 230mm rear disc and a 300mm front petal disc. The XMR comes with 17-inch wheels with 100/80 front and 140/70 rear tyres. The R15, on the other hand, comes with new USD front forks and a mono-shock. <p>Hero MotoCorp offers a full range of equipment with the XMR, including a 5-inch LCD instrumentation, Bluetooth smartphone connectivity, call and message notifications, all-LED lighting, and turn-by-turn navigation. Despite lacking GPS, the R15 outperforms the Karizma in this department, thanks to traction control, a side-stand engine inhibitor, riding modes, and a quick shifter. Yamaha's Y-connect App includes additional capabilities, including the last parking location, maintenance alert, malfunction warning, and phone and SMS alerts. The Karizma, however, regains a bit of an advantage over the R15, given its USB charging outlet and an adjustable front windscreen.</p>

<p>Yamaha has introduced a new Dark Knight paint scheme for the R15 V4 bike. As the name suggests, the updated motorcycle is now available with a matte black base colour along with some golden bits. Yamaha is charging a premium of only Rs 1,000 for this Dark Knight edition&nbsp;in comparison to the Metallic Red version. With this new colour option, the R15 V4 stands at Rs 1.82 lakh (Rs 1,81,900). The manufacturer continues to offer Racing Blue and Intensity White colour options, costing Rs 1.86 lakh (Rs 1,85,900) each. All prices are ex-showroom.&nbsp;The&nbsp;recently launched colour scheme is also offered with other Yamaha models as well -&nbsp;the R15 V3 and the FZ.&nbsp;</p>

<p>However, the Yamaha R15 V4 is unchanged in terms of its powertrain and mechanical specification. On the design front, it retains LED lighting on the headlamp &amp; the taillamp and features the same LED DRLs. In addition, the R15 V4 gets&nbsp;the same LCD instrument cluster&nbsp;with Track and Street display modes.&nbsp;Bluetooth connectivity is also a part of the package.</p>

<p>Mechanically, the Dark Knight Edition continued to be the same as before. <p>The new Dark Knight Edition is priced at Rs 1.82 lakh (ex-showroom), which makes it more affordable than the Racing Blue and Intensity White versions of the R15 V4. It uses a new-generation 155cc Blue Core engine that comes with variable valve actuation (VVA) and is compatible with a CVT transmission. Its&nbsp;liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC (single overhead camshaft), 4-valve motor churns out 14.8bhp of maximum power at&nbsp;8,000rpm and 13.9Nm of peak torque at&nbsp;6,500rpm.&nbsp;</p>

<p>On the feature front, the 2023 Aerox 155 is available with a hazard switch as a standard feature along with a brand-new Silver colour option. Moreover, it also features a single-channel ABS and&nbsp;a digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth.</p>

Furthermore, the latest MT-15 V2 variant continues to use dual-channel ABS (anti-braking system) for added safety and&nbsp;traction control system for better control and performance. Like the 2023 Aerox 155, it also meets OBD-II compliance.</p>

<p>Coming to its colour options, customers have two new different colour schemes to choose from - Dark Matte Blue and Metallic Black. The Yamaha MT-15 V2 starts at Rs 1.65 lakh and goes up to Rs 1.69 lakh.&nbsp;Prices are&nbsp;ex-showroom. The prices vary depending on the colour choices.</p>
