Mercedes-AMG has unveiled the S65 Cabriolet, the open-top version of its flagship S-Class sedan.
The S65 Cabriolet is powered by a 6.0-litre V12 biturbo engine that churns out 630 bhp and 1,000 Nm of torque. This allows the car to accelerate from 0 to 100km/hr in 4.1 seconds, before topping at an electronically limited speed of 250 km/hr.
The engine is mated to a seven-speed AMG automatic transmission, which offers three modes, Controlled Efficiency (C), Sport (S) and Manual (M).
Speaking of design, the front of the S65 Cabriolet is dominated by a large central Mercedes star on the front apron and the ‘twin-blade’ radiator grille. The fabric soft top is available in black, dark blue, beige and dark red and can be opened and closed electronically at speeds of up to 50 km/hr.
Being a variant in the S-Class range, expect nothing but the best when it comes to the interiors. The seats are made of designo Exclusive nappa leather, and three-spoke steering wheel also gets the leather treatment.
LED intelligent lighting system and a Burmester high-end 3D surround sound system come as standard with the S65 Cabriolet.
The Mercedes-AMG S65 -Cabriolet will go on sale in the UK on April 4, 2016. It remains to be seen if and when the German car maker brings this car to our shores.
