The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has enforced GRAP Stage III across Delhi-NCR after&nbsp;AQI levels rose from 362 (‘Very Poor’) to 425 (‘Severe’) on Tuesday morning.&nbsp;As a result, BS-III petrol and BS-IV diesel vehicles are now prohibited from&nbsp;operating in Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad, and Ghaziabad. Residents of the capital have been grappling&nbsp;with hazardous air quality for weeks, prompting authorities to take stricter action.&nbsp;With the implementation of Stage III under the ‘Severe’ category, the city is now witnessing tighter&nbsp;controls not only on vehicles but also on construction, demolition, and industrial activities.&nbsp;These new measures build upon the restrictions already in place under Stages I&nbsp;and II, aiming to curb pollution more effectively.<h2>What is GRAP?</h2>The Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) is a structured emergency framework that aims to tackle air pollution. It operates in four stages, each triggered by&nbsp;specific Air Quality Index (AQI) levels, allowing authorities to implement timely measures based on the severity of pollution.Stage I of the GRAP is implemented when the AQI ranges between 201 and 300, indicating ‘Poor’ air quality. Meanwhile, the II stage of the GRAP comes into effect&nbsp;as the AQI rises to 301–400, representing ‘Very Poor’ conditions. Maruti Suzuki — India’s largest carmaker — has made another sales record, becoming the first carmaker to sell a cumulative of three crore vehicles in India till date. This includes sales of all its cars, vans, SUVs, and the Super Carry pickup. The carmaker has achieved this feat in just under 42 years. It comes as no surprise that the most-selling nameplate for MSIL has been that of the Alto, with about 47 lakh units of the hatchback sold here till date. The Wagon R has followed to take up the second spot, with around 34 lakh units sold. Joined by the Swift with roughly 32 lakh units, the top three best-sellers for Maruti have together sold over one crore units amongst themselves. Maruti has shared some interesting data points that have been monumental in reaching this milestone. It sold its first crore units in 28 years and 2 months, its second crore in another 7 years and 5 months. Skoda India Breaks Sales Record in 2025 – 61,607 Cars Sold So Far!

Despite the US Government strong-arming companies to manufacture domestically, Ford has built on its Letter of Intent and has entered into an agreement with the Government of Tamil Nadu to invest in the state. The American carmaker plans to invest Rs 3,250 crore for a project involving the production of next-generation engines. The production shall take place at Ford’s Chennai plant, which it still owns today, unlike its Sanand plant that it sold to Tata Motors. Following a Letter of Intent signed back in September 2024, Ford has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government, and it is yet to enter into a definitive agreement. Moreover, it plans to only manufacture powertrains in India, that too solely for the purpose of exporting them to global markets. Hyundai to Launch Made-in-India Genesis Luxury Cars in India in 2027

Hyundai will introduce its global luxury brand, Genesis, in India in 2027. While there is no official confirmation, the first Genesis model to be launched in India is expected to be an SUV.

Garg spearheaded the Korean brand’s digital transformation and introduced customer-first platforms like the MyHyundai app, HSMART for dealers, and a direct-to-consumer EV sales channel.
