Exterior Details

The Mini Cooper SE's exterior features a quintessential Mini design. In fact, there are few ways to tell it apart from its ICE powered counterpart, the Mini Cooper S. What's different here, in classic electric car fashion, is the closed grille on the front end that usually works as an air dam for ICE powered cars. The Mini Cooper SE gets yellow S badging and dual-tone ORVMs in highlighter yellow. As well as a yellow lip that runs around the circumference of its quirky looking alloy wheels. Speaking of alloy wheels, the Cooper SE gets 17-inch ones in a design unique to the Mini Cooper SE. The headlights come integrated with clean DRLs and the Union Jack tail-lights continue here from its ICE powered counterpart. Dimensions of the Mini Cooper SE are 3845mm in length, 1727mm in width and 1414mm in height.

Interior Details

The Mini Cooper SE's interior is quite similar to its ICE counterpart as well. Inside the quirky ambient-lit cabin is an eye-catching centre console which features a 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The driver's cockpit gets a 5.5-inch digital display. The interior also features premium upholstery with sculpted seating in the front seats. While the Mini Cooper does have rear seats, it is best treated as a coupe. However, putting the rear seats down takes boot space up to a massive 731 litres.

Engine & Transmission

The Mini Cooper SE's engine specifications, or rather, motor specifications include a unit capable of 184PS and 270Nm of torque, mated to a 32.6kWh battery that claims a range of 270kms per full charge. Charging times differ between 80 percent in 9.43 hours with a 2.3kW AC charger, 2.30 hours with a 11kW AC charger and a mere 36 minutes with a 50kW DC fast charger. The Mini Cooper SE is an offering from the BMW Group, which intends to fit DC fast chargers across its dealer network in India to provide support to their EV buyers. With the Mini Cooper SE, customers get a 11kW wall box charger to use and easily charge the EV at home.  

Features

The Mini Cooper SE gets a fair number of features including Apple CarPlay compatibility in its 8.8-inch infotainment system. The touch display also gets MINI Navigation System and a Harman Kardon speaker system. The car also features wireless charging, cruise control, parking sensors, driving and electric range modes and switchable traction control to name a few.
