The base Hyundai Verna 1.4 is priced at Rs 9.29 lakh. Hyundai has also added two new variants of the 1.6 diesel
In a bid to make the Verna diesel more affordable, Hyundai has quietly added two new 1.4 diesel variants. The base 1.4 diesel is priced at Rs 9.29 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The Verna 1.4 EX diesel has been launched at an ex-showroom Delhi price of Rs 9.99 lakh. Prior to the launch of this new variant, the most accessible Verna with a diesel motor carried a sticker price of Rs 9.62 lakh.
The Verna 1.4 diesel has been fitted with the same 1,396cc four-cylinder diesel that pumps out 89 horses and 220Nm. This engine comes paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. When Hyundai brought in the new Verna in August 2017, it was only introduced with the 1.6-litre engine options. The company later brought in the 1.4-litre petrol in January this year.
Along with the launch of the 1.4-litre diesel, Hyundai has also added two more variants to the 1.6-litre oil burner – SX+ and SX(O). The former comes with LED headlamps that have been fitted with projectors, LED tail lamps, 16-inch alloy wheels, electrically folding mirrors, a 7.0-inch infotainment system and more. The SX(O) is the top of Verna’s variant options. It added ventilated leather seats, adjustable rear headrests and telescopic steering. This variant also comes fitted with six airbags instead of two. The Verna 1.6 diesel SX+ and the SX(O) are priced at Rs 11.52 lakh and 13.99 lakh respectively.
