The Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 is easily one of the coolest electric motorcycles in India. However, its aggressive riding position can feel a bit too committed, making city commutes and long rides uncomfortable for some riders. Enter the new SuperStreet – it’s designed for those who prefer a more upright riding posture. To put it to the test, we travelled to Ultraviolette’s base, where we rode the F77 SuperStreet both on a go-kart track and on public roads. The idea was to find out how it handles, and whether it is the revelation that Ultraviolette promises.

 
 
 
 
<h2>Ultraviolette F77 SuperStreet Design &amp; Battery Specs</h2>

You might be wondering why the F77 SuperStreet looks almost identical to the F77 Mach 2. Well, according to the company, the design was already so good that they saw no reason to make any changes. So, the hardware is pretty much the same, with just a few small tweaks. The Recon variant we tested comes with the same 10.3kWh battery, giving you an IDC-certified range of 323km, along with 40 horsepower and 100Nm of torque. It can go from zero to 60km/h in just 2.8 seconds and hit the 100km/h mark in another 4.9 seconds, making the Recon variant about 0.1 seconds faster than the standard one. However, both versions have a top speed of 155km/h, just like the F77 Mach 2.

 The SuperStreet also offers three ride modes – Glide, Combat, and Ballistic – paired to a 10-level regenerative braking system, which is optional in the standard version. Another cool feature it shares with the Mach 2 is the Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), which effectively uses the regenerative braking system in conjunction with the ABS, ensuring optimal stability and control, especially in challenging riding conditions. It prevents wheel lockup by dynamically adjusting braking force while slowing down using regenerative braking.

 
 
 
 


<h2>Ultraviolette F77 SuperStreet vs Mach 2: Key Changes Explained</h2>

One of the biggest updates is the handlebar – the bike gets a wider, single-piece unit instead of the old clip-on bars. To fit this new handlebar on the SuperStreet version, the company added a riser and tweaked the triple clamp. Although the seat and footpeg positions haven’t changed, this new setup straightens the riding posture by about 25 degrees. So, you end up sitting pretty upright, just like you do on a typical streetfighter.

 And that change really makes a world of difference. In fact, I really like the comfortable riding position of the F77 SuperStreet. The upright riding position feels great, and those wider handlebars give you better control, especially when navigating city traffic. Surprisingly, it doesn’t lose much on the track, either. But is that really all it takes to call it a solid street bike?

 
 
<h2>Ultraviolette F77 SuperStreet City Riding Experience</h2>

The F77 SuperStreet has the same mechanical setup as the Mach 2. The brakes are great, but the suspension feels a bit too stiff for my weight, which is about 50kgs. That said, heavier riders might not face the same issue. You can also tweak the preload at both the front and rear. What really stands out, though, is the weight. It tips the scales at over 200 kilos, which makes it a lot heavier than most ICE street bikes that perform similarly. For lighter riders, just lifting it off the stand can be a task, and manoeuvring it through city traffic definitely isn’t as easy as riding a 160 – 170kgs ICE sports bike.

<h2>Ultraviolette F77 SuperStreet Comfort &amp; Touring Ability</h2>


I also found the seat to be a bit stiff, which could be a problem on longer rides. However, if you can swap it out for something more comfortable, I think the F77 SuperStreet could be a solid touring companion.

Out on the open road, the weight of the bike isn’t really an issue. Plus, it’s also packed with some cool touring-friendly features, like three riding modes, 10 levels of regenerative braking, four levels of traction control, and dual-mode, dual-channel ABS to ensure that you ride the way you desire. Sure, you might miss out on a sweet exhaust growl, but the smooth, vibration-free ride, especially at speeds up to 155km/h, more than makes up for it. Plus, the money you save on fuel means that you’ll have more to spend on fun stuff during your trip.

Ultraviolette F77 SuperStreet First Ride Review - Street Smart

The F77 SuperStreet may look similar to the Mach 2, but Ultraviolette claims it offers a completely different riding experience. We ride it to find out!

I seem to have
developed a kind
of love-hate
relationship with
our <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/tvs/apache-rtr-310/">TVS Apache
RTR 310</a> long-term unit after
spending another month with it.
We began to understand each
other better; however, it is time to
say goodbye, as this report
marks the conclusion of our term
with the bike. Now, I know that
the RTR, with its unapologetically
cool attitude, doesn’t care what I
think about its quirks, but as
always, I have to share my
thoughts.
If you’ve been following along,
you probably know that we, at
autoX, are all fans of this bike’s
performance and handling
capabilities, especially
considering its price point. Add to
it the fact that it’s a real head-turner on the road, thanks to its
eye-catching yellow-grey colour
scheme, and you’ve got a bike
that makes you feel pretty special
while riding on the road. One of
my favourite aspects of this bike
is its compact, agile nature.
What’s more, at 5’4”, I don’t find
this bike as big or intimidating
when riding as it appears.
In my last report, I talked about
the seat cushioning issue, which
makes long rides a bit
uncomfortable. While I really
appreciate its performance, I’ve
encountered a new problem this
month. I’ve noticed that there’s
something off with the fuel
delivery when the fuel gauge
drops below four bars, and the
issue worsens as the fuel level
goes down.I didn’t encounter this problem
during the first month. When I
first noticed the issue, I decided
to test it by riding on low fuel.
The throttle felt kind of unstable,
with the ride becoming
increasingly jerky as the fuel
gauge edged closer to the red
zone. It was annoying, taking
away from the fun of twisting the

throttle. I missed its usual power
and smooth handling for a few
days and had to be extra careful
while riding. I even tried switching
between the riding modes, but it
only altered the intensity of the
issue. Once I refuelled it to about
half the tank, the bike returned to
its usual smooth self.Will I still miss the Apache RTR
310? Probably, yeah. Even with
the issues I had, it’s hard to forget
its quick acceleration, awesome
braking, sharp handling, and, of
course, that sweet exhaust note.
I’ll definitely miss the cruise
control too since I used it a lot
last month. I’m not really into
cruise control on bikes, but the
way it was set up on the Apache
RTR 310 made it super
convenient. How much I’ll miss it
really depends on what I ride
next, but I’m definitely excited for
the next version of this bike. I just
hope <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/tvs/">TVS</a> pays attention to the
problems I mentioned. Until then,

TVS Apache RTR 310 Long Term Review, January 2025 Report

Even with the issues I had, it’s hard to forget the quick acceleration, awesome braking, sharp handling, and, of course, that sweet exhaust note of the TVS Apache RTR 310.

When I took the TVS Apache RTR 310 for a spin at the Thailand Circuit Motorsport complex outside Bangkok, one thing really stuck in my mind. The <a href="https://www.autox.com/reviews/bike-reviews/tvs-apache-rtr-310-review-is-it-the-best-bmw-tvs-product-yet-114540/" target="_blank">performance and handling were super</a> impressive on the track, but I was unsure about the seat for everyday riding.

For those who might not know, TVS has this fancy electronic package called the Dynamic Pro Kit that you can get for the RTR 310. It comes with a six-axis IMU, which is awesome given how powerful this bike is. But then there’s the climate-controlled seat that can heat and cool, which I wasn’t too keen on. I understand that it’s intended to be helpful during extreme weather, but its current setup creates additional problems. The heating and cooling device under the seat makes it feel stiff and uncomfortable, which really isn’t great for long rides. I rode the bike to and from work for a month, and honestly, I think TVS either needs to fix this or ditch the feature in the next update.

On the bright side, the bike’s acceleration is always thrilling and puts a huge grin on my face. Additionally, its performance characteristics are wisely split into five different riding modes to accommodate various needs. However, the downside is the vibrations that occur as the engine revs up, particularly in the mid-range. I really hope TVS can address this issue, but it seems like it would require significant research and development. TVS Apache RTR 310 Long Term Review, December 2024 Report

The heating and cooling device under the seat of the TVS Apache RTR 310 makes it feel stiff and uncomfortable, which really isn’t great for long rides.

Our regular readers might have noticed that I’m the newest member of the team. I joined autoX about a month and a half ago, and the new office is quite a trek from my place. With traffic in the Delhi-NCR area getting crazier, the MG Comet, which was already part of our long-term fleet, became my go-to ride for getting to work. I’ve driven the Comet plenty of times before but never really got to spend much time with it. Up until now, I had usually stuck to using the Sport or Normal mode and hadn’t explored Eco mode much. This time though, I figured I’d try to focus on getting the best range out of it, which honestly made me a little nervous. The nervousness was not due to concerns about the range as I&nbsp;used to plug it into a charge in our office parking lot almost every day. The real reason was that becasue it is hard not to drive this cute little car in a fun way. It’s hard to resist the urge to press down a little harder on the pedal whenever I spot an empty corner or some open space. However, this time the situation was different; I had to navigate through the usual city traffic, which made me feel confident about sticking to Eco mode. To my surprise, the performance in this mode was quite impressive. It felt no different from driving a regular ICE commuter vehicle, and its compact size made it quick and nimble in mild traffic. The only difference I observed, compared to the other modes was in the acceleration.

And then, this tiny thing grabs attention just like fancy luxury rides. When you stop at a red light, you’ll see people checking it out through the big windows and windscreen. The compact size of the Comet makes parking in tight spots a breeze, like the one at our office with the electricity outlet. But the big doors need more room to swing open than your average four-door car. Luckily, MG designed the Comet with that in mind, allowing you to get in and out from either side thanks to the gap between the dashboard and the central console.

Commuting in the Comet while keeping it in Eco mode turned out to be a solid choice, giving me over 160km from a single charge. Still, I couldn’t help but switch to Sport mode every now and then. Honestly, I ended up charging the Comet less often as I got closer to my final days with it. MG Comet EV Long Term Review, November 2024 Report

This time though, I figured I’d try to focus on getting the best range out of it, which honestly made me a little nervous.

Bangalore-based electric bike manufacturer <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/ultraviolette/">Ultraviolette</a> has launched the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/ultraviolette/f77-superstreet/">F77 SuperStreet</a> in India, starting at an introductory price of Rs 2.99 lakh (ex-showroom). This new model is based on the existing <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/ultraviolette/f77-mach-2/">F77 Mach 2</a> electric sports bike and promises similarly exciting performance. While both versions feature identical designs and mechanical specifications, the SuperStreet offers a more relaxed riding position due to its new handlebar assembly. Key changes include a wider, single-piece handlebar mounted on a riser, using a reworked upper triple-clamp. As a result, the handlebar position is slightly higher, providing a more upright riding posture. For comparison, the F77 Mach 2 is equipped with lower-set clip-on handlebars that create a more aggressive riding position. The standard version comes with a 7.1kWh battery, while the sportier Recon model packs a bigger 10.3kWh battery, just like the Mach 2. You can expect an IDC-certified range of about 211km for the standard trim and 323km for the Recon. Plus, both versions give you three riding modes: Glide (low performance, high efficiency), Combat (a good balance of performance and efficiency), and Ballistic (high performance, but not super efficient).

 The F77 SuperStreet Recon packs a 40.2hp (30kW) output and an impressive 100Nm of torque. It can go from zero to 60km/h in just 2.8 seconds, and it hits 100km/h in another 4.9 seconds, topping out at 155km/h. To handle all that power, it comes with a 4-level traction control system and dual-mode, dual-channel ABS. Plus, there are 10 levels of regenerative braking, which you can easily adjust on the fly using buttons on the left side of the handlebar. It also has Dynamic Stability Control (UV DSC), which helps fine-tune the regenerative braking with the ABS for better control and stability, whether you’re braking gently, actively, or in an emergency. And the Hill Hold feature makes it easy to keep the bike in place without having to constantly hold the brake.

 Ultraviolette has rolled out some cool updates to its smartphone app. The latest version now comes with some optional AI features that you can try out, like Delta Watch, Lockdown Mode, Crash Alert, an Anti-Collision Warning System, and Daily Ride Analytics. Bookings for the UV F77 StreetSport kick off on February 1, 2025, and the deliveries should start in March 2025. Ultraviolette also rolled out a bunch of accessories for everyone, including Aero Discs, Tank Grips, Lever Guards, a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Puncture Kit, Screen Guard, Top Box, Soft Panniers, Hard Panniers, and a Type 2 Charging Interface called UVLYNK.

New Ultraviolette F77 SuperStreet Launched in India, Price Starts at Rs 2.99 Lakh

Based on the Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2, the new SuperStreet version gets a new handlebar assembly for a more relaxed ride experience.

VinFast is generating significant excitement ahead of its official debut in India at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. The Vietnamese automaker will present its global lineup of <a href="https://www.autox.com/electric-cars-in-india/">electric cars</a> at this auto expo, starting on January 17 in New Delhi. Additionally, the company has confirmed that it will showcase its electric scooter lineup at the event. VinFast plans to launch electric scooters in the Indian market following the introduction of its electric cars. Last year, VinFast trademarked the design patent for the Klara S in India, shortly after signing a memorandum of understanding with the Tamil Nadu government to establish an EV manufacturing plant in Thoothukudi. Therefore, it is likely that the Klara S will be the first Vietnamese electric scooter available in the Indian market.

VinFast offers a range of seven electric scooters in its home country. The lineup includes entry-level models such as the Motio, Evo200, and Evo200 Lite. At the top of the range are the VinFast Theon S and Vento Sare, while the Feliz S and Klara S occupy a mid-range position. The company also makes an electric bicycle, called the DrgnFly, but that's exclusively for the US market. The entry-level VinFast Motio is equipped with a 1.26 kWh battery, providing a top speed of 49 km/h and a claimed range of 82 km. All other models feature a 3.5 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery pack, each with different styles and performance specifications.

The Vinfast Klara S, which is anticipated for the Indian market, comes with a 1.8kW hub motor in its home market. It has a maximum speed of 78km/h and claims a range of about 194km and 6 hours of standard charging time for zero to 100 per cent. Clearly, it is going to rival brands like the Ola S1 Pro, Vida V1/V2, Ather Rizta and TVS iQube, and should be introduced in the similar price bracket of Rs 1.1 lakh to 1.5 lakh in India.

In addition to offering a range of affordable electric cars and scooters, VinFast will also work on strengthening India’s charging infrastructure. With these initiatives, the company has positioned itself well for its debut at the Bharat Mobility Expo, which many are eagerly anticipating.

Vinfast Electric Scooters Coming to 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo

VinFast plans to launch electric scooters in the Indian market after introducing its electric cars. The company currently offers seven electric scooters in its home country.

The Hyundai Creta Electric, one of the most anticipated EVs, has been unveiled ahead of its global debut, scheduled for January 17 at the Bharat Mobility Expo. Based on the popular Creta nameplate, it will be Hyundai's third electric offering in the Indian market, following the Kona EV and the Ioniq 5. However, it will be positioned in a more affordable price segment, with the expected price ranging between Rs 15 lakh and Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom). The vehicle will offer two battery pack options: a 51.4kWh (Long Range) and a 42kWh variant, with claimed driving ranges of 473km and 390km, respectively. Additionally, the Creta Electric will feature a DC fast charging option that can recharge the battery from 10 per cent&nbsp;to 80 per cent&nbsp;in just 58 minutes. For home charging, an 11kW Smart Connected Wall Box charger will be available, capable of charging the battery from 10 per cent to 100 per cent&nbsp;in approximately 4 hours. Please note that the wall box charger is likely to be offered at an additional cost.

<h2>Hyundai Creta Electric Exterior, Interior and Features</h2>

The electric Creta closely resembles the Creta N Line but can be distinguished by its unique electrified front and rear designs. It features a pixelated graphic front grille with an integrated charging port, as well as specially designed front and rear bumpers and pixelated LED reverse lamps. Additionally, it boasts segment-first active air flaps, which help manage airflow to cool vehicle components and enhance aerodynamic performance. Its 17-inch Aero Alloy Wheels and Low Rolling Resistance (LRR) tyres are designed to further improve aerodynamics and contribute to overall range efficiency.

The Hyundai Creta Electric is equipped with a Digital Key, allowing users to lock, unlock, and start the vehicle using their smartphone or smartwatch. Inside, it features a dual 10.25-inch screen setup and a new steering wheel design similar to that found in the Kona models sold overseas. Additionally, it boasts a new floating centre console design. In terms of features, the Creta Electric includes a panoramic sunroof, 360-degree cameras, and an Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) suite. It also offers Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology, enabling users to power external devices both inside and outside the vehicle, effectively transforming it into a portable power source.

<h2>Hyundai Creta Electric Powertrain</h2>

<a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/hyundai/">Hyundai</a> has not yet disclosed the details of the powertrain, but it claims that the Long Range version of the Creta Electric can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in just 7.9 seconds. The vehicle offers three driving modes: Eco, Normal, and Sport. A rotary dial is provided for switching between these modes, and the gear selector is designed as a stock lever located behind the steering wheel, similar to the setup in Mercedes-Benz cars.

Honda was probably the last big carmaker in India to enter the compact SUV scene with the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/honda/elevate/">Elevate</a>. While their product is quite impressive, the late entry means they’ve already lost a big chunk of the market to rival brands occupying the compact SUV space for almost a decade. On the other hand, the sub-compact sedan segment has quite a different story to tell. The <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/honda/amaze/">Honda Amaze</a> has been around for a while and has done pretty well. It’s the company’s best-selling model, which consistently drives solid sales numbers for <a href="http://www.autox.com/new-cars/honda/">Honda Cars India</a>. The issue now is that aside from commercial (cab) sales, the growing trend is towards SUVs, which means compact car buyers are increasingly gravitating towards those more rugged-looking machines instead of sedans. Perhaps, that's why we don't see many updates in the compact sedan category. Thankfully, after the segment leader Maruti Suzuki Dzire, the Honda Amaze has also received a significant update. The company calls it a next-generation (third-gen) all-new model. However, we were a bit sceptical about the claim until we got behind the wheel of the new Amaze.

<h2>Best-looking sub-compact sedan?</h2>

Now, the new Amaze, referred to by the company as the third-generation model, is based on the outgoing second-generation model, with some additional structural reinforcements. The wheelbase remains unchanged, and the side profile looks almost identical to its predecessor. The only noticeable changes are at the front and the rear. While wheels now get a machined design, it doesn't significantly alter the overall side appearance of the car.&nbsp;

The front has undergone a complete redesign, taking inspiration from the Elevate. Features such as a mesh front grille with a flatter design and headlamp clusters show clear SUV influences. Additionally, the revised bumper also includes redesigned fog lamp housings. Moving to the back, you might be surprised by how much it resembles the Honda City, especially with the new 3D LED tail lamp clusters. In fact, if you are driving behind the new Amaze at night, you could easily mistake it for the City. The rear design is neat and clean, with no unnecessary elements.

Overall, while the third-generation Honda Amaze resembles the second-generation model, it combines the Elevate’s front styling with the City’s rear look. Despite the limited attractiveness in the sub-compact sedan market, it remains arguably the best-looking option available in India, offering a proper three-box design characteristic of a true sedan.

<h2>A Better Experience Inside?</h2>

Inside, you may not immediately notice the changes, for the cabin layout is familiar. However, there are quite a few updates, like the newly designed dashboard, with an 8-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system. This setup supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, which is pretty cool. Below the infotainment, you'll find HVAC controls taken from the Elevate.&nbsp;What's great here is that everything has proper physical buttons, especially for the infotainment shortcuts.

I really like the presence of physical controls, for it means you don't have to take your eyes off the road as much while driving. The dashboard’s design has been refreshed too, featuring a sleek dual-tone look with an aluminium strip, which adds a nice touch. While the beige part might seem soft to the touch, it’s actually hard plastic. While there are hard plastics all around the cabin, they look and feel decent overall. The flimsy central console in the old Amaze was a big annoyance, but that’s been fixed in this new version. The touchscreen works well and connects effortlessly to your smart devices, with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Plus, the interface is simple and user-friendly. For device charging, the Amaze includes two USB ports up front, a 12V socket in the front and rear, and a handy wireless charging pad. A nice feature of the charging pad is that you can turn it off with a dedicated button. It would’ve been nice if Honda had included a Type-C port too, since most new smartphones use Type-C cables nowadays.

The steering wheel looks like it has been lifted from the Honda City but without the leatherette feel. Still, it’s loaded with controls for the infotainment, ADAS features, and the info display on the new instrument cluster, which feels pretty City-like. The cluster has a 7-inch TFT display for all the important info, along with a traditional needle for speed. The seats have been given a bit of a makeover with better bolstering, but the cushioning and fabric remain the same as before, even in the higher trims. They’re quite comfortable, though. Space management has always been a top highlight of the Honda Amaze, and the new model just adds to it. It's been widened slightly, adding extra room for rear-seat passengers and more boot space.

Space was never an issue with the Amaze; it easily fits four adults and up to five mid-size suitcases. You might wonder why there’s a problem fitting a fifth person, and that's because the Amaze finally comes with rear AC vents, which were much needed. However, those centrally-mounted vents can make legroom a bit cramped for the person sitting in the middle at the back. On the bright side, the cabin now cools down faster and better than before.

<h2>Drives Differently?</h2>

The driving experience of the third-generation Honda Amaze is again not a complete departure from the outgoing version, especially in terms of ergonomics. That, however, was not even a problem in the previous iteration. The steering wheel, driver seat, and foot pedals are excellently positioned, instantly offering you a comfortable driving posture. Coming to the drivetrain, the same 1.2-litre four-cylinder i-VTEC petrol engine is the sole option here, and it continues with the same 5-speed manual and CVT automatic gearbox options to choose from in all three trim levels. While most other brands have shifted to more economical three-cylinder configurations, the Amaze still offers the four-cylinder configuration, but the good thing is that it's slightly more refined. Now, we expected Honda to add a bit more punch to this drivetrain, but unfortunately, that's not the case. It continues to deliver about 89 horsepower and 110Nm of torque. Now, the power output here is pretty adequate for this kind of setup, but the torque could have been improved. Honda says that they have altered the tuning of the engine as well as of the gearbox a bit, but we didn't quite feel the changes. The engine still sounds strained when you press hard on the throttle pedal, but you don't quite feel inside the cabin, perhaps, because the overall structure is now more strengthened. Honda also seems to have reworked the insulation of the Amaze, for it filters out the engine noise and road harshness more effectively, offering a slightly quieter ride experience than before.

Now, coming to the gearbox, we drove the CVT version of the new Honda Amaze. This is probably the only car on the market with the smoother CVT gearbox, as most of the competition has shifted to AMTs, with the fun of paddle shifters whenever you need a manual downshift for overtakes or engine braking.

One thing that I was expecting in the new Amaze was a better suspension setup. However, it feels more or less the same as that of the outgoing model. The softer setup of the car gobbles all the road undulations without any hiccup at low speeds, but the high-speed damping and the stability beyond three-digit speeds remain questionable. Maybe that's another reason Honda is not even offering any more powerful drivetrain options. To be honest, this setup is near perfect for your daily city commutes as well as some occasional short weekend escapes, especially considering the enhanced safety kit of the new Honda Amaze.

<h2>The Most Affordable ADAS&nbsp;Car in India</h2>

Honda has enhanced the structure of the Amaze by incorporating 45 per cent high-tensile steel, reflecting their commitment to safety. The vehicle comes equipped with a range of safety features, including six airbags, ABS with EBD and Brake Assist, rear parking sensors, Hill Start Assist, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) with Electronic Stability Control, Traction Control, and ISOFIX-compatible rear seats. Additionally, all five passengers have access to seatbelts and head restraints, starting from the base V grade. The mid-level VX grade adds a rearview camera and a Lane Watch system, which provides a view of the side lane on the infotainment screen when the turn indicators are activated. This feature is particularly useful, as it helps minimise blind spots when changing lanes or directions.

The standout feature of the new Amaze is in the top-end ZX grade, which starts at Rs 9.67 lakh (ex-showroom) for the manual transmission variant. It is now the most affordable car in India to offer an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) package. It includes Honda Sensing technology, which, in the Elevate SUV,&nbsp;has previously performed well in tests. This camera-based system includes features such as Collision Mitigation Braking, Road Departure Mitigation, Lane Keep Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lead Car Departure Notification, and Auto High Beam. While these features enhance safety during forward motion, there is no ADAS support for reversing.

This is the first time a manufacturer has introduced a level-2 ADAS package in a car priced under ten lakh rupees, which is a significant milestone. Overall, these features contribute to making the Amaze a safer choice compared to many other options on the market. In fact, the Elevate, which uses the same Honda Sensing technology, was one of the top performers in our recent Mega ADAS test.

<h2>Next-gen or Facelift?</h2>

While the platform and drivetrain remain unchanged, we can't truly categorise this as a next-generation version. However, the numerous updates both inside and out, along with the addition of new features, make it much more than just a simple facelift. As mentioned earlier, it is arguably the best-looking car in its segment.

Honda has decided not to offer a base variant this time, perhaps, because&nbsp;sales patterns suggest that most customers opt for either the mid or top variants. For these variants, Honda has packed the new Amaze with features right from the starting point. Although it lacks certain luxury features like a sunroof or an automatic IRVM, it includes all the essentials and offers enhanced safety. Consequently, the Honda Amaze is a great value-for-money offering in the compact sedan segment.

New Honda Amaze First Drive Review: Next-Gen or Facelift?

The new Honda Amaze is now the most affordable car in India to feature Level-2 ADAS. However, is it actually an improvement compared to its predecessor?

Brixton Motorcycles has recently launched the Cromwell 1200 and 1200X models, along with the Crossfire 500X and 500XC, in India through a joint venture with the India-based company MotoHaus. We initially expected that the next offering from the Austrian brand would be the mid-capacity adventure tourer, the Crossfire 500 Storr. However, it seems that the next model might actually be an entry-level motorcycle, the Cromwell 125. Recently, we spotted the 125cc retro motorcycle in Kolhapur, where it was seen with some camouflage stickers covering its branding. It is uncertain whether the unit we observed is still undergoing testing for the Indian market or if it is already prepared for an imminent launch. Nonetheless, this suggests the Cromwell 125 could be Brixton's next offering in India.

The Brixton Cromwell 125 is a retro roadster, much like its larger sibling, the Cromwell 1200, but it is lighter and smaller in size. Built on a single-downtube cradle frame, it features classic styling that includes a flat seat, a metal tank, and wire-spoke wheels. Staying true to its retro design, the headlamp, taillight, instrument cluster, and turn indicators are all round, but they come equipped with LED illumination. The headlamp features Brixton's signature compass-like LED daytime running light, and the instrument cluster combines a small LCD screen with an analogue tachometer. Interestingly, the tachometer displays rev counts up to 16,000 rpm, even though the redline is set at 9,000 rpm.

The Cromwell 125 features a single-cylinder, air-cooled engine paired with a five-speed gearbox. It produces approximately 11 horsepower at 9,000 RPM and 9.7Nm of torque at 6,500 RPM. These power figures align with other premium 125cc motorcycles in the market, such as the Bajaj Pulsar 125, TVS Raider, and Hero Xtreme 125R, although the peak power is achieved at a slightly higher RPM range. According to its global website, Brixton claims that the Cromwell 125 can reach a top speed of 99km/h and has a fuel consumption of about 43km/l. We can expect these figures to remain consistent in the Indian market as well.

In other markets, the Brixton Cromwell 125 is equipped with a classic wheel setup featuring an 18-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel, fitted with 100/90 and 120/80 section tyres, respectively. The motorcycle we observed in Kolhapur was equipped with CST tyres from China, where Brixton motorcycles are manufactured. However, finding suitable replacements from Indian tyre brands should not be difficult. Braking is managed by a 276mm disc brake at the front and a 220mm disc brake at the rear, featuring a Combined Braking System (CBS). Additionally, the company may offer front ABS assistance as an optional extra.

The Cromwell is equipped with a telescopic front fork and dual hydraulic rear shock absorbers, weighing just 134kg when fully operational. Then, it has a very accessible seat height of only 770mm. In the Indian market, the only comparable model is the Keeway SR125, which has an ex-showroom price of Rs 1.2 lakh. However, considering the quality, features, and performance of both bikes, the Cromwell 125 may be priced slightly higher, estimated at around Rs 1.5 lakh in India.

Cromwell 125 Could Be Brixton's Next Motorcycle for India

Powered by an 11-horsepower, air-cooled engine, the Brixton Cromwell 125 will likely be priced at around Rs 1.5 lakh in India.
