KTM 390 Adventure Highlights
The KTM 390 Adventure was first unveiled at the EICMA Motorcycle show in 2019. The 390 Adventure is, essentially, the adventurous version of the 390 Duke. So, in line with its adventurous intentions, there are a number of changes that set it apart from its sibling. Most importantly, it gets a revamped design, which is somewhat identical to the 790 Adventure.
In comparison to the 390 Duke, the LED headlamp at the front remains unchanged, but the housing is all-new. It also gets newer alloy wheels, a large windscreen, and knuckle guards. The fuel tank gets sharper extensions, giving the motorcycle an aggressive stance. Also new to the 390 Adventure are a longer rider seat and a brushed aluminium exhaust.
Dimension-wise, the KTM 390 Adventure is 2,154mm in length, 900mm in width, and 1,400mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 1,430mm, ground clearance of 200mm, and a fuel tank capacity of 14.5-litres. For detailed KTM 390 Adventure images, click on the images section above.
Engine & Transmission
At the heart of the 390 Adventure is the same engine that does its duty on the 390 Duke. The 373.2cc single-cylinder engine is good for 42.4bhp and 37Nm of torque. The former is marginally lower than its sibling, while the latter remains unchanged. The 390 Adventure is also the manufacturer’s first BS-VI compliant motorcycle in the country. The engine still comes paired to a 6-speed gearbox, although now it gets a bi-directional quickshifter.
Since this is an adventure offering, the KTM 390 Adventure new model gets a 43mm upside-down fork at the front with 170mm of travel. Unlike the international model, however, this one is a non-adjustable unit. The rear monoshock, on the other hand, can be adjusted for pre-load and rebound. The bike is built around a steel trellis frame. The stopping power comes from a 320mm disc brake at the front and a 230mm disc brake at the back. The 19-inch wheel at the front is shod with 100/90-19 tyre and the 17-inch wheel at the back is shod with 130/80-17 tyre.
The 390 Adventure gets a multitude of segment-first features. This includes lean-sensitive traction control, cornering ABS, off-road ABS, and a slipper clutch. The instrument cluster is fully-digital, good for a number of features. It also gets Bluetooth connectivity and navigation. In terms of lighting, both the headlamp and taillamp are LEDs.
Price & Variants
The KTM 390 Adventure is available in a single variant. The KTM 390 Adventure price (as of early-2020) is ₹2.99 lakh for the Standard variant (ex-showroom, Delhi). For the KTM 390 Adventure on-road prices, be sure to check our price section.
