As we prepare for yet another edition of the auto expo, here’s a guide on what to expect at the new venue, where to find different brands, and how to book your tickets in advance for a hassle free experience at the show.

For the automotive enthusiasts in our country, the biggest circus in town – the Auto Expo – marks a welcome return. However, since the last edition in 2012, many things have changed – for instance, there’s a new venue. Now the show will be held at the India Expo Mart, Greater Noida. Plus, the entry is now ticketed at all times, so one can expect a more serious crowd at the venue. To help you get your head around all this information, here is a quick guide with the necessary details.

Reaching the Venue
A crucial issue for people planning to visit the show is the new venue, which has shifted away from the traditional venue of Pragati Maidan in the center of Delhi, and is now located in the satellite town of Greater Noida – which basically means that reaching there is a completely different challenge. To ease this process, the organisers are investing in various modes of transport, which will enable people to reach the venue easily. Of course, visitors can also reach the venue using their own private vehicles. For people using public transport, some of the most popular methods to reach the Expo Centre are:
-  Free shuttle bus service from the nearest Metro station, which in this case is Noida City Centre
-  Additional free shuttle bus service will also be run from other metro stations, such as Jasola and Akshardham

Entry & Ticketing
Another aspect of the 2014 Auto Show that has been changed is that there is no longer any free entry to the show on any of the days. The entry is now ticketed at all times, and the ticket prices range from `200 to `500 depending on the day and timing of the visit. While some consumers may view this tariff as being steep, the fact of the matter is that this will reduce the maddening crowds that used to be a feature of the show at Pragati Maidan on public days – and will ensure that the more serious consumers visiting the show have a safer and more fruitful visit.

Since it’s the first time that the auto show is completely ticketed, the organisers have introduced the facility of buying tickets online – to purchase your tickets, simply visit: www.bookmyshow.com.

Furthermore, as a first of its kind, the organisers have also launched a smartphone app, which allows visitors to access the sitemap of the venue, detailed information of the manufacturers present, organisers, shuttle services, and more. The application can be downloaded from the Android, iOS, Windows Phone and Blackberry app stores.
