Configuring a Ferrari is a deeply personal affair — almost as much about imagination as it is about taste. With the Amalfi, Ferrari’s latest grand tourer, the possibilities are endless. Whether it’s a heritage paint shade, a toy-car memory, or a stealth spec meant to fly under the radar, every choice says something about its creator. So, we set ourselves a challenge: take Ferrari’s online configurator, and spec out our dream Amalfi. The outcome is a fascinating mix of styles, colours, and inspirations that reveal as much about us as the car itself.

Dhruv Behl, Editor-in-Chief

Since the Amalfi is all about elegance and style, mine would be in a beautiful shade of Rubino Micalizzato – a mix of ruby and burgundy – one of Ferrari’s historic colours.

In keeping with this understated elegance, the wheels would be matte grey, and the callipers would be aluminium, not a shouty red or yellow. Of course, you have to option the iconic Ferrari shield on the haunches and the sport exhaust for when you want to make your presence felt.

The interior would be Bordeaux, right from the top of the dash to the carpets and the seats, which would also have the iconic Daytona stripes in a contrasting dark grey. The only racy bit would be a carbon fibre steering wheel with shift lights for when you want to really put your foot down! The icing on the cake would be some fitted luggage for those weekend trips.

I can totally visualise this car going down the road, and it looks absolutely brilliant! Of course, it would have to be the Amalfi coast road, at sunrise, with the exhaust note bouncing off the mountainside as the Mediterranean glistens off in the distance…

Ishan Raghava, Managing Editor

When you set out to configure a new Ferrari for yourself – well, in our case, you could probably call it wishful thinking! – My first thought as a lifelong car enthusiast is, what colour should it be? I know the various shades of red that Ferrari offers are a bit of a cliché, so I looked at other options – Violetto Dino or Blu Soozia, for instance, but neither worked for me.

Point being, in the latest generations of Ferraris, what I’ve noticed is that with the extensive aerodynamic work done on them, they have very dense structures – design-wise – in the front and rear air dams, which are a mass of black material. That means, to highlight the car’s lines, you need a brighter colour – in my opinion. That was the last reason I needed to choose my colour of choice from Ferrari’s historical shade selection – Rosso Dino, a vibrant, tomato-red shade that really stands out! Paired with that are 20-inch forged silver rims, Ferrari shields on the fenders, and Titanium exhaust tips, all elements that work together to make the car's design stand out.

The interior features electric ventilated seats finished in Terra Bruciata with matching Alcantara carpets and a leather dash. Sure, it might look like a quintessential red and tan Ferrari combo, but I think that works best.

You might look at my configuration and feel that I've done a lazy job with it. But hear me out… You see, I take this Ferrari configurator business seriously, which is why I have specced up my Amalfi as if I am actually buying it.

Now I spent nearly an hour browsing through the stunning colour options that are available with the Amalfi, and had almost zeroed in on the Violetto Dino (deep shade of purple), but considering it’s going to be my first Ferrari, how could it be of any other shade than the classic Rosso Corsa? Remember when Clarkson bought the F355? Watch it on YouTube from Clarkson’s Car Years to know why your first Ferrari HAS to be red. So, naturally, that’s what I have opted for. I have matched it with tasty 21-inch forged dark rims along with yellow brake callipers to stick with the usual Ferrari theme.

On the inside, I have opted for a mix of sporty and classy themes, featuring a heavy dose of Alcantara and carbon fibre. All in all, I hope someone at Ferrari is reading this & makes my wish come true. If not a real Amalfi, a scale model would be perfectly alright for the time being…

Aakash Paul, Special Correspondent

My Amalfi is inspired by an unbranded toy car I used to have as a kid. While most kids had black, white and red cars, I had this one purple car that I was absurdly fascinated with. It looked fast, unique, and had presence.

So, when I opened the Ferrari configurator and saw that there was a shade close to the one of the toy I had — Violetto Dino — I immediately selected it as the base of my creation. While the urge to go loud with the colours was strong, I decided to opt for a darker and more menacing persona, perhaps one that would suit a hip Batman from the future. And so, I got black wheel caps for the forged alloys, matching aluminium brake callipers, and titanium exhaust pipes. With these colours, my version of the Amalfi would command a great deal of poise and respect on the road.

Now, when it came to the interior, I added complementary Filo Violetto Dine stitching to complement the exterior colour. Most of the surfaces were kept in the Blu Sterling colour so as not to make it too dark and not very loud either. I did, however, add a dash of red to the seatbelts and the Ferrari logo on the headrests. Of course, I had to. To finish things, I got the ventilated seats and a better sound system, so the driver is comfortable and has a nice soundtrack.

Karan Mathur, Multimedia Producer

For my Ferrari Amalfi configuration, the philosophy was to create a quintessential yet modern specification. The foundation, of course, is the iconic Rosso Corsa paint.

I believe a Ferrari’s performance should do the talking, so rather than opting for flashier elements, I chose to complement the classic red with extensive carbon fibre on the front spoiler, rear diffuser, and side mirrors, paired with black ceramic exhaust pipes. This creates a contemporary, aggressive look, punctuated by the traditional Giallo Modena touch on the brake callipers and ‘Scuderia Ferrari’ shields.

Inside, the theme continues with a driver-focused Nero leather interior. To echo the exterior, I introduced subtle yet purposeful accents of colour with red stitching, red safety belts, and red carpets. The result is a timeless, purposeful configuration that honours Ferrari's heritage while embracing a clean, modern aesthetic.

I’m a shameless configurator addict — I’ve got specs saved for almost every modern car. For the Amalfi (India launch still pending), I’ve gone for a stealthy GT that rewards a second look and long drives.

Outside, it’s Grigio Abu Dhabi with the full matte-carbon aero pack, titanium exhaust, aluminium brake callipers and stone-chip film; Scuderia shields on the quarters, nothing shouty.

Inside, Terra Bruciata leather with a Rosso Giudecca centre stripe and the Cavallino on the headrests, Bordeaux stitching, and carbon LED wheel and trims.

Comfort comes first — Magneride, 360° surround view, a heat-insulating windscreen, electrochromic mirror, massaging/ventilated seats, smartphone integration, a foldable rear backrest and the factory luggage set — because I want to arrive rested, not rattled.
