Tiivra Neo Classic Street Gloves

I had been searching for a pair of gloves that I could use for my regular city commutes. Something light but also fairly safe. A few Google searches later, I found something that fit the description — Tiivra’s Neo Classic Street gloves. So, I got in touch with the company and asked for a pair, and they were kind enough to provide them. Now, having used them for a month, for more than just city commutes, here is what I think.

First of all, I am not a big fan of how the gloves look. They are mostly black in colour, with two brown stripes running from the wrist to the index and middle fingers. The right-hand glove has additional graphics on the thumb, painted in the same brown shade. It is not the most vibrant choice out in the market and does look a bit understated. Although I do like how light it is, making it feel like a second skin on your hand.

I asked for a large size pair and was surprised to see that it was a very tight fit on my relatively skinny hands. Normally, I wear large-size gloves and can even manage with mediums in some cases, but the Neo Classics felt a bit too tight, even in this large size. I do struggle a little to get them on and feel some pressure from the fabric after about 30-40 minutes of riding. So, if you want to get one for yourself, either try it in the store first or order a size or two bigger. I do, however, like the high-quality Velcro strap at the base of the gloves. It looks good and secures the gloves nicely. For protection, there is a palm slider and the TPU knuckleguard. These will provide some amount of protection if you have a light fall and should save you from scratching your hands.

What was disappointing, though, was the visible fraying on the fingertips after only a month of use. However, I liked how easy it was to use my phone while wearing these gloves. This is great if you come to a stop while riding and quickly want to zoom in/out of the map on your phone or glance through your calls and messages.

Overall, I would say that I was expecting Tiivra to deliver more with the Neo Classic Street, considering they have an MRP of ₹2,950. These are decent gloves, but only if you get them on sale for around ₹1,500. Thankfully, as I write this review, that is the price they are going for. Just make sure you get a size or two larger than what you usually wear.
