As our time with the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 comes to an end, we draft our final long-term report of the bike that has been the source of a lot of fun rides.

A colourful companion...that is what the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 has been. And I do not mean just in the sense of having a colourful paint scheme. The bike has been an absolute hooligan and super fun to ride. Mundane office commutes become a lot more engaging when the machine underneath you is always rearing to go and roars with every modulation of the right hand. With a fat 160/60 rear tyre, the bike not only looks good, but grips the tarmac very well. Since Delhi experienced frequent showers lately, I also rode the bike on wet roads and had no complaints.

One thing that has been a bother is the bike’s wide turning radius making it challenging to turn in tight spaces. The bike also feels a bit slow to change directions when you are on the move.
While the navigation through the digital instrument cluster is iffy, it does boast a good amount of features — the best of the lot being the Google Map view. It is super easy to connect your phone to the bike and navigation becomes so much easier once you have the map on the screen. It is most valuable if you are charting previously unknown routes.

I have been of the opinion that if you’re thinking of buying the Guerrilla, you should just spend the extra cash and get the Himalayan instead. It is a more versatile machine. I can’t say that my time spent with the Guerrilla has changed that. But I will say that living with the Guerilla has made me appreciate it a lot more and opened my eyes to a lot of aspects where it outperformed my expectations. I can also see its charm in being a more youth-friendly urban motorcycle. So, if you want a powerful and exciting 450cc bike, the Guerrilla is actually a decent pick.
