As promised in last month’s report, this time, I shall be talking about how the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 is to ride in the Eco mode. This mode makes the power delivery less jerky while still maintaining good acceleration for everyday use. The Eco mode also allowed me to extract a fuel efficiency figure of a little over 25km/l. Another thing to note is that I mostly rode the bike through traffic-riddled roads and going on the highway should result in a bit more mileage. However, given how smooth I was with my inputs, I would have liked to see a higher figure.

The Eco mode is, in fact, my preferred choice when travelling with a pillion. The gentler manners of the bike help ensure that your companion on the rear seat is not yeeted off when you get going. Speaking of the pillion experience, the Guerrilla has a fairly long seat cushion that makes it usable for the person at the back. Two very tall people will still find the space a bit cramped, but average-sized Indians should not have a problem. The footpegs do have vibrations, but they are not too severe to be a bother. Plus, it goes with the character of this motorcycle.

Something I noticed while riding the Guerrilla in the afternoons is that the fuel tank gets a bit too warm for my liking. It is not so bad that you can’t hug it with your legs, but it gets very close to that point. I would definitely recommend getting some sort of rubber tank grips to avert the issue. Also, just like the new Himalayan, the Guerrilla does seem to have a razor-sharp response for the rear brake, meaning that you can lock up the rear wheel easily, even though there is dual-channel ABS. All things considered, I am still surprised how usable this bike is, if you want a pillion to tag along.
