It's no mystery that all racers like racing on a handful of favourite tracks more than any other. Here's Alexander Sims explaining his favourite venue of the lot – Rome.
Being a racing driver is a privilege, and I am fortunate to race on every single track on the FIA ABB Formula E calendar. But, there are a few tracks that stand head and shoulders above the rest, and Rome’s Circuito Cittadino dell'EUR is one of them.
When we think of the iconic street circuits, our minds immediately go to Monaco or Macau. Both are narrow, they charge through the city with pace and have big elevation changes…and this is exactly what Rome has to offer. As a driver, you are constantly challenged, you need to think and act fast, it’s a real driver’s track.
Last year, I finished in second place in Rome in the Mahindra Racing M7Electro. The plan, of course, is to achieve this success again when we return this weekend. We’ve not had the greatest start to the year in terms of results but we have developed a fast car – if we can put everything together in qualifying, the duels and the races, we should have a very good weekend. Let’s see what we can do!
