The excitement among Indian fans for the first-ever MotoGP race at the BIC (Buddh International Circuit) is rising. In the upcoming three-day motorsport competition, 22 riders from 11 teams, including Honda, Yamaha, KTM, Ducati, and Aprilia, will participate. However, amid the fervour surrounding this historic event, reports emerged regarding potential challenges related to the homologation process, track safety, and riders' visas, which raised concerns about the event's completion.

According to reports, several riders and teams couldn’t board flights to India because the crucial visa approvals did not arrive on time. Among those affected was Spanish rider and the most well-known face in the sport, Marc Marquez, who was unable to board the plane on Tuesday because of some visa-related issues, delaying his arrival to India for the inaugural MotoGP event. However, the central government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and the Uttar Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, made sure that the event proceeded as planned. MotoGP thanked the governments of India and Uttar Pradesh via its official Twitter account for helping to secure last-minute permits for multiple riders and team personnel.

We want to say a HUGE thank you to the governments of Uttar Pradesh and India, and everyone who’s worked so hard to get us to the #IndianGP ????????!

We’re so grateful for the effort and support to help the paddock prepare for the inaugural GP in India ????
