Double victory for Hari Krishnan in Pro-Stock INMRC

Hari Krishnan of Team Honda ten10 scored a double victory in the Pro-Stock 165 class. Jagan Kumar dominated the premium Super Sport Indian category field to take class victory.

At the curtain raiser of the Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship at the Kari Motor Speedway, Hari Krishnan won both races in the Pro-Stock 165 class while nursing a pumped right arm. Hari exchanged positions with Prabhu Arunagiri during the entirety of the race, but Hari managed to get in front and hold on till the finish line. Vivek Pillai managed to get past Prabhu on the final lap of the race to bag second place and drop Prabhu down to finish third.

In the Super Sport Indian race, Jagan Kumar dominated the pack after starting the race from pole position. Jagan quickly led the field into the first corner to lead all the way to the finish line ahead of team-mate Harry Sylvester. Sarath Kumar finished third in the category.

Aaron Gunawardena from Sri Lanka also took a double victory n both the Suzuki Gixxer cup races for the Novice category. Aaron also participates in the Suzuki Asia challenge and won against much-older competitors on his Gixxer Cup debut in Coimbatore.

But the weekend was cut short after two crashes that occurred during the afternoon. During the Gixxer Cup open class race, Pratic Selvaraj crashed at Turn 2 and was rushed to the hospital. In the Honda CBR250 Open class race, Rajiv Sethu suffered a hip injury after his crash at Turn 1. Sethu was also rushed to the hospital, and the race was red flagged after six laps.

The final two races of the day were cancelled on the grounds of safety, as two ambulances are required to be at trackside, but only one as available, as per safety norms.
