Under Alpine's young driver development program, 23-year-old Indian driver Kush Maini just completed his first test in an F1 car. As a result of this achievement, Maini now finds himself alongside talented young drivers like Doohan and Martins within the Alpine Academy, which represents a significant step in his career. For those who don't know, The Alpine Academy has produced some fine drivers who are currently racing in the 2024 F1 championship like Zhou Guanyu and Oscar Piastri. Maini's own 2024 F2 season has been impressive. Although a qualifying penalty hampered him in Bahrain, he went on to secure pole position (due to a driver withdrawal) and a podium finish in Jeddah. Currently sitting fifth in the F2 championship, Maini's strong performance bolsters his potential for a coveted F1 seat in the future.

Maini steadily climbed the ranks, earning a podium finish in the 2018 British F3 championship and a second-place finish in the 2020 championship. He also competed in the F3 Asia series and the FIA World Endurance Championship, broadening his racing experience.

Maini's ambitions extend beyond Formula 2. As a member of the Alpine Academy driver development program, he is honing his skills for a potential future in Formula 1. He's also Mahindra Racing's reserve driver in Formula E, replacing Jehan Daruvala. Under the mentorship of two-time Formula One champion Mika Hakkinen, Maini contributes to the Mahindra team by collaborating with top drivers Edoardo Mortara and Nyck de Vries, testing the M10Electro race car, participating in simulator sessions, and supporting select Formula E races.
