McLaren has unveiled a special Ayrton Senna-inspired livery for the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix. This design, a collaboration with Senna Global and McLaren’s partner OKX, features the MCL38 in the late Brazilian’s iconic helmet colours—yellow, green, and blue—replacing the usual papaya orange. Inside the cockpit, you'll find Senna's quotes, and you'll see his name on the front and back wings of the car. As an added bonus, McLaren Special Operations painted a one-of-a-kind livery for a McLaren Senna road car, and it has dot matrix pictures of Senna. For the Monaco weekend, the McLaren team will wear Senna-inspired gear, and drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri will don custom overalls. McLaren chose Monaco because the track is closely associated with Senna, who won there six times. Although he passed away 30 years ago, this homage is being paid to him now.

Mclaren CEO Zak Brown said: 'The team is proud to recognise and celebrate the extraordinary life and racing legacy of Ayrton Senna through this McLaren livery. Senna remains revered and respected as Formula 1’s greatest icon, and McLaren’s most decorated driver. His impact on McLaren is enormous, not only through his racing record but also presence within the team, and now his legacy, so it’s an honour to race for him at his most successful circuit in his green, yellow and blue colours.

'It’s great to collaborate on the “McLaren SENNA presented by OKX” campaign with Senna Brand, in partnership with Official Presenting Partner OKX and alongside our colleagues in McLaren Automotive. With it being the thirtieth anniversary of his passing, the team are choosing to recognise and celebrate his life at one of his favourite and most successful places to race, Monaco. We look forward to racing in this vibrant and beautiful livery this weekend.'

F1: McLaren and Special Liveris

This isn't the first time McLaren has run a special livery in Monaco. Throughout the 2023 season, McLaren showcased a flair for distinctive liveries with an array of eye-catching designs. They sported a striking chrome livery at Silverstone, and in Monaco and Barcelona, they honoured their Triple Crown victories with unique liveries celebrating their rich racing heritage. In Abu Dhabi, McLaren revealed a special "Driven for Change" design, emphasising their commitment to societal impact. Custom-made designs for races in Las Vegas, Singapore, and Japan further added excitement and innovation to the racing spectacle.
