Formula 1 heads to Qatar for the penultimate round of the 2025 season, and the event includes a Sprint format that offers 33 points across the weekend. Lando Norris can secure the drivers’ championship in Doha if he outscores Max Verstappen and Oscar Piastri by 25 points. Both Verstappen and Piastri must finish the weekend within that margin to stay in contention, as a gap of 26 points or more would confirm Norris as champion. The title fight adds pressure to the weekend as teams prepare for one of the final opportunities to influence the standings. Pirelli has introduced a maximum mileage rule for tyres at the Qatar Grand Prix for safety reasons. The rule is based on concerns about tyre wear due to the Losail circuit layout.
