F1 Qatar Grand Prix: About Lusail International Circuit

The Lusail International Circuit was constructed to host the inaugural MotoGP race in Qatar in 2004. Located on the outskirts of Doha, this circuit has since become a prominent venue on the global motorsport calendar.

Qatar's foray into Formula 1 began in 2021, and the country secured a long-term deal to host the Grand Prix for the next decade, starting in 2023.

The 5.4km circuit, primarily designed with motorcycle racing in mind, boasts a lengthy main straight exceeding 1km. This extended straight provides ample opportunity for overtaking manoeuvres as drivers accelerate towards the challenging Turn 1.
