KTM and Tech3 unveil their MotoGP 2026 RC16 bikes, with unchanged riders and a unified setup as the team prepares for a season shaped by restructuring.

The KTM MotoGP project enters a new phase in 2026, with the RC16 returning to the grid under fresh ownership and a familiar racing structure. Backed by Bajaj Auto following its takeover, the Austrian brand has unveiled its 2026 machine together with Tech3. All four bikes will continue to run the same specification, keeping the factory outfit and the satellite team closely linked from the first test to the final race. It is a setup KTM has relied on in recent years, helping the team collect more data during race weekends and fine-tune performance faster. With another long season ahead, the focus stays on stability rather than experimenting with major changes, especially after the progress shown in the latter half of last year.

The Bajaj Auto takeover has given KTM financial support through an €800 million investment, but it has also brought tighter control on spending. Cost reduction is now a clear priority, and that has put KTM’s racing future under pressure. Racing continues for now to meet existing commitments, but what happens beyond that remains unclear, with budgets expected to shrink as KTM focuses on its core business.

For now, KTM’s MotoGP base continues to function from Austria, with the same engineers and management leading the programme.
All four RC16 machines will also look the same on track this season. The factory bikes and Tech3 entries share identical colours and sponsor placement (except few), underlining KTM’s single-team approach. Whether it is practice, sprint or race day, both garages now work closely, sharing setup direction and development feedback throughout the weekend.

The rider line-ups remain unchanged from 2025, giving KTM consistency across both teams. The manufacturer finished third in the standings last season after a stronger run in the second half, while Tech3 used the year to settle into its revised structure.
