Alex Marquez topped the MotoGP pre-season test in Malaysia, setting the fastest time at 1m56.493s to lead the timesheets.

Alex Marquez dominated the final day of MotoGP pre-season testing at Sepang, setting the fastest time for Gresini Ducati with a blistering 1m56.493s lap. The Spaniard edged out reigning MotoGP champion Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati factory team) by just 0.007s, securing the top spot in the intense morning time attack session. His lap remained unbeaten throughout the day, as he completed 50 laps on his Ducati GP24.
Francesco Bagnaia, who had initially led the session, couldn’t improve on his 1m56.5s lap, leaving him second. Meanwhile, Fabio Quartararo impressed for Yamaha, securing third place with a 1m56.724s, which marked Yamaha’s fastest-ever lap at Sepang, an eight-tenths-of-a-second improvement over their previous best.

Thursday’s pacesetter Franco Morbidelli (VR46 Ducati) finished fourth, while Marc Marquez (Ducati factory team) shifted focus to race simulations, completing 70 laps as Ducati continued testing its 2025 MotoGP engine.

Among the KTM riders, Pedro Acosta led the charge in sixth place, 0.682s off the pace. Johann Zarco was the fastest Honda rider, securing seventh place, with his factory Honda teammate Joan Mir improving late in the day to finish eighth with a 1m57.279s lap.

Yamaha placed two bikes in the top ten, with Alex Rins securing tenth place (1m57.351s). He was just behind Aprilia’s Marco Bezzecchi in ninth, who completed 61 laps, gathering crucial data in the absence of Jorge Martin and Trackhouse’s Raul Fernandez.

Rookie Fermin Aldeguer was the fastest newcomer, finishing 11th for Gresini Ducati. Meanwhile, Jack Miller wrapped up Pramac Ducati’s test programme early, ending the session in 12th place. Yamaha test rider Andrea Dovizioso put in 58 laps, finishing 22nd with a 1m59.929s, just behind Aprilia test rider Lorenzo Savadori.
