At the 2023 MotoGP race at Red Bull Ring, we will have passed the halfway point of the season. The Austrian Grand Prix is the tenth of the season's twenty events.  After Aprilia disrupted Ducati's domination in Great Britain thanks to Aleix Espargaro's victory, the Austrian one is a crucial appointment for continuing to establish orders. As the defending champion, Francesco Bagnaia will be the heavy favourite at this year's Austrian Grand Prix. His performance at Silverstone, where he arguably had the luxury of not pushing to the limit, but still did so very much, suggests he'll continue to do so. Many people will be watching Honda and Yamaha, as well as Marc Marquez and Fabio Quartararo, at the Red Bull Ring to see if they can recover any of their lost ground during the most challenging time in their premier class histories.

About Red Bull Ring

MotoGP Honda Marc Marquez Red Bull Ring

The Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, which is situated in the stunning Murtal area of Styria, Austria, is one of the most popular racetracks in the world. The track was first constructed in the year 1969, under the name Osterreichring. The year 1996 saw the reconstruction of the circuit, resulting in the track layout that is in existence today. Subsequently, in 2011, the facility was reintroduced as the Red Bull Ring, reclaiming its position as the focal point of racing activities in Austria.

The Red Bull Ring is characterised by its natural arena and sloping landscape, with the 18-meter-tall landmark "Bull of Spielberg" serving as the venue's focal point. Additionally, the wing provides a stunning architectural focal point. The track has a total length of 4.318km, including 10 turns and exhibits an altitude variation of 65 metres. The MotoGP World Championship made its long-awaited return to Austria for the first time since 1997 for the 2016 season, when the Red Bull Ring played home to the first round of the series.

On Sunday, the main event of the MotoGP Austrian GP will consist of 28 circuits around the Red Bull Ring circuit, while the Sprint race will be half as long, consisting of 14 laps around the Austrian track.
