MotoGP: BMW Unveils New M5 Touring Safety Car

BMW has not shared interior photos of the new M3 Touring MotoGP Safety car, but it will likely have Recaro bucket seats with a six-point harness.

The MotoGP season launch unveiled the BMW M5 Touring as the latest Safety Car. The new M5 Touring safety car delivers 717bhp and 1,000 Nm of torque and has been modified with specialised equipment for track use. The livery takes inspiration from the BMW M Hybrid V8 race car, featuring BMW’s M colours—blue, red, and white. BMW has supported MotoGP since 1999, supplying Safety Cars, Medical Cars, and Safety The hybrid BMW M5 Touring reinforces MotoGP’s focus on safety, performance and sustainability. Its hybrid system ensures fast response times while maintaining BMW’s handling. As the 2025 season approaches, fans can look forward to seeing this Safety Car in action at Buriram.

Whether in sedan or touring form, our BMW M5 MotoGP Safety Cars impress with their dynamics and agility, making them perfectly suited for racetrack duty.'

BMW has not shared interior photos of the new M3 Touring, but it will likely have Recaro bucket seats with a six-point harness, similar to the sedan. Like the G90 model, it may also feature a fire extinguisher and a fuel suction pump for international transport. The M3 Touring previously served as a MotoGP Safety Car, sparking rumours of a future CS special edition.

For only the second time, BMW is selling an M5 Sedan and M5 Touring together. While the M3 also comes in both versions, its wagon variant is not available in the United States. However, American buyers can now enjoy the M5 Touring, making it the first M Touring model officially offered in the US.

The MotoGP season kicks off from 28 February to 2 March at the Thailand Grand Prix in Buriram. Ahead of the race, BMW is promoting the M5 Touring, with the car set to be showcased in Bangkok in the coming days.
