Marc Marquez once again reminded fans of his championship form with a double win at Brno. After a tough qualifying session, the Gresini Ducati rider bounced back to take victory in both the sprint and the main race. His strong performance helped him extend his lead in the standings. Meanwhile, it was a weekend to forget for his brother Alex Marquez, who crashed out and left Brno without scoring any points. Marco Bezzecchi gave Aprilia something to cheer about by finishing second. He led the race in its early stages before Marc Marquez made his move on Lap 8. KTM’s Pedro Acosta put in a solid effort to take third place, giving the team its first Sunday podium of the season.

Pole-sitter Francesco Bagnaia had a good start but couldn’t keep up the pace. He was eventually passed by Marquez and Bezzecchi and had to settle for fourth. Raul Fernandez impressed with a fifth-place finish for Trackhouse Aprilia, matching his personal best in MotoGP. Yamaha’s Fabio Quartararo crossed the line in sixth, followed by Jorge Martin in seventh.

Fermin Aldeguer, riding for Gresini Ducati, had a mixed result. Though he initially finished eighth, he received a 3-second penalty and was dropped to eleventh. The penalty promoted Brad Binder, Pol Espargaro, and Jack Miller one place each. Espargaro, who stood in for Maverick Vinales, managed to finish in the points in both races—an encouraging result on his return.

Alex Marquez’s race weekend went from bad to worse after he collided with Joan Mir, ending the day early for both riders. Enea Bastianini, who had been running well, also crashed out shortly after overtaking Bagnaia. Honda’s struggles continued, with Luca Marini ending up as their best finisher in twelfth place. Johann Zarco took a risk with tyre choice, but it didn’t pay off and he finished in 13th.

The Brno round was also affected by injuries, with Maverick Vinales, Franco Morbidelli, and Somkiat Chantra missing the race. Replacement rider Takaaki Nakagami injured himself during the Sprint race and was ruled out.

The MotoGP grid now heads into the summer break, with racing set to resume in mid-August at the Red Bull Ring in Austria.
