Fermin Aldeguer scored his maiden MotoGP win at Mandalika after early chaos saw Bezzecchi and Marquez crash out in the 2025 Indonesian GP.

The 2025 MotoGP Indonesian Grand Prix saw Fermin Aldeguer take his first premier-class victory at the Mandalika International Circuit. The 20-year-old Gresini Ducati rider led from the opening lap and held his position until the finish. While several incidents disrupted the race behind him, Aldeguer maintained steady pace and control to secure the result. The race start brought one of the defining moments of the weekend. Pole-sitter Marco Bezzecchi lost ground off the line and, at Turn 7, collided with Marc Marquez. The contact immediately forced both riders to retire.

Bezzecchi’s chance of pairing a Sprint victory with a Grand Prix win ended within minutes, while Marquez left with a suspected collarbone injury. Their exit removed two front-running names from contention, changing the course of the race early.
With a clear track ahead, Aldeguer kept to his race plan and ensured consistent lap times. This contrasted with the Sprint race a day earlier, when Bezzecchi had passed him at the very end. On Sunday, Aldeguer managed tyre wear effectively, kept gaps stable, and avoided errors that could invite challenges. His control over the race distance delivered his first MotoGP win with no late changes in the lead.

The contest for the podium was decided in the closing stages. Pedro Acosta claimed second place for KTM, holding off Alex Marquez on the second Gresini Ducati. Riders in positions four to eight, including Brad Binder, Luca Marini, Raul Fernandez, Fabio Quartararo, and Franco Morbidelli, exchanged places repeatedly, with ongoing battles maintaining interest through the midfield.

Ai Ogura did not race due to a wrist injury, and Maverick Vinales pulled out post-qualifying with shoulder problems. Raul Fernandez represented Trackhouse alone.
MotoGP now moves to Phillip Island from 17 to 19 October, with Aldeguer’s result giving Gresini and Ducati added momentum for the final races of 2025.
