LCR Honda officially confirmed Brazilian rider Diogo Moreira will join MotoGP in 2026, filling out the full grid for the upcoming season. The announcement came just before the Australian Grand Prix and marks an important career step for Moreira. Currently a Moto2 title contender, he has signed a multi-year deal with Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) and will replace Somkiat Chantra at LCR Honda. This move is part of Honda’s broader strategy to develop young talent as MotoGP prepares for major technical changes in 2027, including new 850cc bikes.
Moreira’s progression through the ranks has been steady. Following podiums and wins in Moto3, he moved up to Moto2, where strong performances have made him a title challenger. His 2025 season has demonstrated his ability to compete at the front. At LCR Honda, he will race alongside Johann Zarco, balancing youth with experience for the team as they face the new MotoGP regulations.
