MotoGP Marc Marquez And Honda

Marc Marquez has confirmed on social media that he will be leaving Honda at the end of the 2023 MotoGP season. On Wednesday, the six-time champion posted a conversation he had with a trusted member of his staff to social media. Such words were meant to shed light on the reasons behind Honda's stunning announcement earlier that day, which confirmed weeks of speculation about his departure. Although it hasn't been officially confirmed that Marc Marquez will be riding for Gresini Ducati alongside his brother Alex in the upcoming season, it is widely believed to be his primary and most viable option given the circumstances surrounding his departure from Honda. This move is seen as one that will provide him with a competitive opportunity to commence the year as a genuine title contender.

MotoGP: What did Marc Marquez Say?

At first, when he bid farewell to the team he had exclusively raced for in MotoGP through a morning social media post, he simply acknowledged their collective achievements with Honda. However, as the day progressed, he shared a significantly more heartfelt Instagram story, delving deeper into his motivations and aspirations for his transition to Ducati.

Marc Marquez shared the message in his Instagram story, “I don't know where to start, I don't know if I'm doing right or wrong, I don't know what will happen in the future, I don't know if all this will turn out well, but what I do know is everything we have achieved together.”

“It has been the most difficult decision of my life, guided by my head and courage, NOT by my heart. My team at heart will always be you, the ones ALWAYS, those who have supported me and will support me. But I have one thing clear, I want to try to be the best rider in the world again and for that, I need to enjoy the bike.”

“I used a theory that the mountaineer said in the book you left me to read. If I can climb Everest in three days, why climb it in five? Logically, it is much more risky to try it in three days. You expose yourself much more and it may not be possible, but if I don't try, I won't do it. I will never know. You have always told me and I have applied it: follow your instinct, no one beats you with character and balls. Finally, it's time for the heart to speak and, as you well know, our relationship is very special, that's why I hope our paths cross again. Let's enjoy these six holidays that we have left this year.”

MotoGP: Who Will Replace Marc Marquez in Repsol Honda?

It is unclear who will replace Marquez for the 2024 racing season at the factory Honda team. Possible candidates Honda team are Iker Lecuona and Jake Dixon.

MotoGP Johann Zarco

Johann Zarco, who will go to LCR Honda from Prima Pramac Ducati in 2024, is another possible Marquez replacement because of his high potential and his ability to quickly advance to the top team. But if he does get promoted as planned, the future of LCR  will remain uncertain.

The 2024 MotoGP season looks like it will be another dominant for Ducati as the Italian manufacturer continues to dominate MotoGP. Japanese manufacturers (Yamaha and Honda) are likely to suffer in 2024 as their riders' first impressions of their prototypes during the Misano test were not positive.
