Marc Marquez secured his second consecutive victory at the San Marino Grand Prix, narrowing the gap to championship leader Jorge Martin. Starting from ninth on the grid, Marquez showcased his skill by overtaking pole-sitter Francesco Bagnaia to claim the lead and the win. Jorge Martin's strategy, however, didn’t pay off. He gambled on rain tyres with an early pit stop, but when the rain subsided, his plan backfired. This miscalculation dropped him to 15th place, hurting his chances to defend his lead in the championship standings. Marquez's strong performance significantly reduced the points gap, bringing it down to 53 points. The result shifted the momentum in the championship battle, as Marquez's consistent form pressured Martin and Bagnaia for the rider's title.

Jorge Martin's momentum from Saturday's sprint race faded abruptly on Sunday. Despite strong qualifying, his strategy failed, and he finished with just one point. Ducati rider Francesco Bagnaia took advantage of Martin's mistake, cutting the championship gap to seven points. Although Marc Marquez outpaced Bagnaia on his home track, Bagnaia's consistency was key.

Brad Binder, Marco Bezzecchi, and Alex Marquez completed the top six. Jack Miller, who gained positions during a rain shower, finished eighth behind Fabio Quartararo. KTM rookie Pedro Acosta started strong but crashed after losing a wing in contact with Morbidelli.

Only Acosta, Vinales, Espargaro, and Raul Fernandez pitted for wet tyres. Due to Luca Marini and Joan Mir's illnesses, the absence of Repsol Honda riders left a gap on the grid. Pol Espargaro returned for KTM, while Stefan Bradl raced as a wild card.
