Franco Morbidelli dominated Day 2 of the 2025 Sepang MotoGP Test, setting the fastest lap of 1m57.210s on his VR46 Ducati GP24. The Italian rider took control early in the session and remained unchallenged until the chequered flag at 6 pm local time. While Morbidelli impressed, factory Ducati riders faced setbacks. Francesco Bagnaia, who finished fifth with a 1m57.652s, suffered a minor incident earlier in the session. His teammate, Marc Marquez, crashed in the final minutes, preventing him from improving on 14th place (1m58.447s). The eight-time world champion was unhurt, but his crash ended his hopes of setting a personal best lap.

Yamaha showed strong pace, with Fabio Quartararo securing second place (1m57.324s). The French rider continued his impressive form on the M1, staying close to Morbidelli’s benchmark time. Gresini Ducati duo Alex Marquez and Fermin Aldeguer finished third and fourth, respectively. Aldeguer, the rookie sensation, completed only 26 laps before his team benched him as a precaution to avoid overexertion.

The Sepang MotoGP test also saw the absence of key riders due to injuries sustained on Day 1. Reigning world champion Jorge Martin, Raul Fernandez, and Fabio Di Giannantonio remained sidelined. In Di Giannantonio’s absence, Michele Pirro took his place and finished 21st. Aprilia’s Lorenzo Savadori, stepping in for Martin, struggled and ended the session at the bottom of the timesheets.
