Ex-F1 driver and 2021 Formula E champion Nyck de Vries is set to add another chapter to his already impressive 2024 racing campaign. The Dutchman will compete in three rounds of the Super Formula season, driving for Itochu Enex Team Impul. His debut will be at Motegi Circuit in August, followed by two rounds at Fuji Speedway in October. De Vries replaces Theo Pourchaire in the team, who has shifted his focus to IndyCar. The Super Formula seat has previously been filled by Ben Barnicoat and Hibiki Taira for earlier rounds. This marks a significant addition to a year that has already seen the 29-year-old return to Formula E with Mahindra Racing and claim a hard-fought victory in the World Endurance Championship at the 6 Hours of Imola.

Known for his versatility and speed, de Vries' entry into Super Formula is sure to elevate the competition. With his track record and the competitive nature of the Japanese series, fans can anticipate exciting battles as the Dutchman adapts to the powerful single-seaters.
