Sebastian Vettel, the four-time F1 champion who retired at the conclusion of the 2022 season, will once again be driving a Formula 1 car this year. Sebastian Vettel hasn't taken part at Goodwood since 2012, when he drove the same Red Bull RB7 that won the championship the year before. Following the 'Race without Trace' effort that Vettel started at Silverstone with the FW14B utilising e-fuels, all the vehicles he drives during the event will be driven by sustainable fuels. Twenty percent of the vehicles competing in the 30th annual Festival of Speed are expected to use non-conventional energy sources such as electric, hydrogen, or synthetic fuels. Fans will celebrate Vettel and his great career with a "balcony moment" during the Goodwood Festival of Speed, which takes place from July 13 to 16.

Which F1 Cars Will Sebastian Vettel Drive at Goodwood?

1992 Williams FW14B

Several cars from the ex-Red Bull, Ferrari, and Aston Martin driver's personal collection, including Nigel Mansell's championship-winning Williams FW14B and Ayrton Senna's McLaren MP4/8 from 1993, will be featured in an appearance on the Goodwood Hill. To highlight the 'Race Without A Trace' initiative, the vehicles will exclusively utilise eco-friendly fuels. This was initially shown off during the 2022 British Grand Prix, when Seb drove the same 1992 Williams FW14B he will be driving again at Goodwood. This year's event will also include a display of Vettel's cars in honour of his career.

What is Goodwood Festival of Speed?

The Festival of Speed takes place every year at Goodwood, a magnificent estate amid the beautiful English countryside. The FoS is a weekend of nonstop horsepower, automotive marvels, glamour, and socialising, and is widely recognised as one of the world's best running events.

To honour the Goodwood Motor Circuit's 75th anniversary since its founding and the festival's 30th year, several exciting events are being planned for 2023. From Thursday, July 13 through Sunday, July 16, 2023, Goodwood will host the Festival of Speed. The well-known Sunday hillclimb is the most popular event. From the Racing Years of the late 1940s to the current supercars of the 21st century, Goodwood 75 will feature a hillclimb batch of vehicles spanning this whole time period.
