<p><b>Bajaj says, the addition of the recently launched Pulsar 150 with the rear disc option temporarily ‘nudged’ the Pulsar 135 LS out </b></p>

<p>Less than two weeks back, there were reports of Bajaj pulling the plug on the Pulsar 135LS. This bit of news took birth keeping in mind the low sales numbers of the product and was fuelled further when it suddenly went absent from Bajaj’s official website. The Pulsar 135 LS has now reappeared on the website and that has sparked a discussion about what really happened over the last few weeks. We got in touch with the company executives to clear the air.</p>

<p>First things first, the Pulsar 135 LS continues to be on sale. The company tells us that although the sales numbers of the product are on the lower side, it does have a reasonable demand in certain regions of the country. In fact, Bajaj continues to produce the 135 LS for the export market too. So, what then was the reason for the absence of the product on their official website?</p>

<p>Bajaj recently introduced a new variant of the Pulsar 150 with a rear disc option. While this was added to the official website, the 135 LS temporarily got ‘nudged’ out while the during maintenance. In fact, in the larger scheme of things, the launch of the Pulsar 150 with the twin-disc option, has only made a more distinct space for the Pulsar 135 LS.</p>

<p>When it was launched in 2009, Bajaj intended to push the Pulsar 135 LS as a sporty offering. The Chakan-based two-wheeler manufacturer repositioned the motorcycle as a premium commuter in February last year. Changes to the 135 LS during the time included a single unit seat instead of a split one, heel-toe shifters, a more comfortable gram rail, and understated colour options. All of these changes essentially allowed Bajaj to reposition the 135 as a premium commuter.</p>

<p>As far as the motorcycles in itself is concerned, there are no changes to the design, engine or any other aspect. In terms of positioning too, the Pulsar 135 LS will continue to sit between the <a href="https://www.autox.com/reviews/bike-reviews/bajaj-discover-125-review/">Bajaj Discover 125</a> and the Pulsar 150. The <a href="https://www.autox.com/news/bike-news/bajaj-pulsar-135ls-discontinued-103531/">Bajaj Pulsar 135 LS</a> is priced at Rs 62,144 (ex-showroom Delhi) and continues to be on sale in the Indian market.</p>
