<p>At a starting price of Rs 78,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi), Honda Motorcycle &amp; Scooter India (HMSI) recently rolled out the updated Livo in the Indian market. This launch happened shortly after the bikemaker revamped the CD110 Dream Deluxe, a 110cc commuter motorcycle. The entry-level commuter motorcycle is offered in two variants: Drum and the Disc, with the latter retailing for Rs 82,500 (ex-showroom). On the 2023 iteration of the Livo, Honda is providing a 10-year warranty package (3 years standard + 7 years extendable warranty). The bike has only received slightly modified aesthetics centred around the tank in addition to an OBD2-compliant engine. Three colour options are available for the bike: Athletic Blue, Metallic Black, and Matte Crust Metallic, the first two of which appear to be rather appealing.</p>

<p>Speaking on the launch, Yogesh Mathur, Director of Sales and Marketing, HMSI, said, ‘Since its debut in 2015, Livo has been a favourite among aspirational buyers in its category and with the introduction of OBD2 norms, we are elevating its appeal to new heights. Now infused with advanced technology, the 2023 Honda Livo is a perfect blend of style, comfort, and performance that meets the expectations of modern-day riders.’</p>

<h2>2023 Honda Livo: Styling and Features</h2>

<p>The manufacturer claims that the new Livo targets the younger generation, for it blends simplicity simple but stylish-looking. In addition, the model has some visually appealing graphics that add to its contemporary appearance. A long single seat is included with the Honda Livo motorcycle for further comfort. Its massive fuel tank and sculpted tank shrouds give the entire appearance a hint of sportiness. 18-inch Black alloy wheels and chrome muffler covers are further highlights. Athletic Blue Metallic, Matte Crust Metallic, and Black are the three available colour schemes for this new motorcycle.</p>

<p>The new Honda Livo motorcycle comes with a number of notable features, including a DC headlamp, a long 657mm single seat, a combi-brake system (CBS), RSU telescopic forks, 5-step adjustable rear shock absorbers, a viscous air filter, sealed chain, a low-maintenance 4Ah battery, and tubeless tyres.</p>

<h2>2023 Honda Livo: Engine Specs and Hardware</h2>

<p>The Livo is powered by a single-cylinder air-cooled 109.51cc engine, which generates a maximum torque output of 9.30Nm and a peak power output of 8.67bhp. A 4-speed gearbox handles transmission responsibilities. The unit now has an ACG starter motor for a silent engine start along with OBD2 compliance. The brushless motor also functions as a generator to produce current and charge the battery while riding. A two-way engine Start/Stop switch, an integrated side stand inhibitor, and an external fuel pump are some of the standout components of this 110cc powertrain. The latter feature makes maintenance simple.</p>

<p>The hardware package has not changed along with 18-inch alloy wheels, dual springs, telescopic forks, and drum brakes on both ends. A front disc brake version with enhanced specifications is available as an option.</p>

<p>Honda two-wheelers has just launched the BS6 version of its 110cc commuter, the Livo. Available in two variants – Drum and Disc – the motorcycle's price starts from Rs 70,056 for the drum variant (ex-showroom, Delhi). The price of the disc variant isn’t out yet, but expect it to command a premium of close to Rs 2,000 – Rs 2,500 over the drum-brake variant.</p>

<p>With the new pricing, the Livo BS6 has gotten dearer by around Rs 10,000 than the outgoing BS4 version. Not only that, but it is also a lot more expensive than CD 110 Dream STD (Rs 64,505), which shares the same engine. In fact, even the base variant of the Shine BS6 (Rs 67,857), which features a 125cc engine, is priced lower than the base Livo BS6.</p>

<p>However, in Livo’s defence, it has got a few design updates as well as some new features. It gets new paint schemes and a redesigned tank, headlight cowl, and taillamps. There’s a new part digital, part analogue instrument cluster, and it now also gets an engine kill switch. Among other new bits, the headlamp now runs on DC supply, and the bike has a longer seat for more comfort.</p>

<p>The engine is the same 110cc single-cylinder unit as before, but it now features fuel injection and develops 8.7bhp and 9.3Nm of torque. It comes paired to a 4-speed gearbox. The bike also gets Honda’s ACG silent starter motor, which helps crank the engine in a smooth manner. The disc version gets a 240mm front disc and 130mm drum at the rear, while the drum version gets 130mm drums on both wheels. The combined braking system is standard in both.</p>

<p>Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India is celebrating the first anniversary commuter segment motorcycle, Livo. Having sold 2.5 lakh units of the motorcycle in that duration, the company has now launched two new colours for the motorcycle – Imperial Red Metallic and Matter Axis Gray Metallic. Honda currently offers in two variants namely, Disc (front-brake disc) and Drum.</p>

<p>Mechanically, the motorcycle is unchanged, meaning it’s powered by the same 4 stroke, air-cooled 109.19cc, single-cylinder engine that develops 8.2bhp of maximum power at 7,500rpm and 8.63Nm of peak torque at 5,500rpm. The engine is paired to a 4-speed manual transmission.</p>

<p>Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Y. S. Guleria, Senior Vice President – Sales &amp; Marketing, Honda Motorcycle &amp; Scooter India, said, “In the past 12 months, the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/honda/livo/">Livo</a> successfully went against the wind and outperformed, while the 100-110cc segment was under stress and faced a negative growth. With 2.5 lakh units sold in a year, Livo is now Honda’s best-selling motorcycle in the segment &amp; the new exciting color options will further enhance Livo’s sporty character and youth appeal.”</p>

<p>Sales wise, Honda continues to dominate the Indian two-wheeler industry. The company registered its best ever monthly sales in India in July 2016, selling over 4.5 lakh units (including exports). Of the total units sold, scooters sales accounted for over 3 lakh units alone. Its motorcycle sales were up by 7 per cent last month with Honda selling 1.20 lakh units.</p>
