<p>This street bike introduces upgrades that increase its speed, power, and functionality. Stock parts, including the wheels and paint scheme, have been replaced with custom components. Carbon fibre elements reduce kerb weight, and a new exhaust system enhances performance.</p>

Husqvarna Vitpilen 801 Aero Concept Revealed with Bespoke Aerodynamic Upgrades

A custom full system replaces the original exhaust of the Husqvarna Vitpilen 801 with white-painted header pipes routed differently from the standard model.

<p><strong>autoX Awards 2024: </strong><a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/husqvarna/">Husqvarna motorcycles</a> are known for their Swedish minimalism and stunning design, and I’ll admit, I was a big fan of the smaller Svartpilen 250. While it was a beauty, it wasn’t without its flaws. The new Svartpilen 401, however, seems to address many of those issues, starting with, perhaps, one of the most significant ones – road presence. The 401 is larger in every dimension, offering much more space and a more substantial look on the road.</p>

<p>In terms of design, the rear of the bike has shifted from the custom-styled tail to a more conventional look. Although the taillight design remains the same, the indicators and number plate housing have moved to a standard mounting point, rather than being attached to the tyre hugger as before. The 401 now also features larger grab rails, and the fuel tank panel no longer extends as dramatically under the rider’s seat. The uniquely shaped fuel tank is also wider, enhancing its visual impact. While the road presence has certainly improved, I’m not entirely convinced that it is as stylish as the original.</p>

<p>Despite its knobby-looking tyres, the Svartpilen is unmistakably a street bike with the flair of a scrambler. It is powered by KTM 390 Duke’s renowned 399cc liquid-cooled engine. We’ve long held that this motor is the most thrilling in its class, and that engaging drivetrain continues to be the highlight here, even if the mid-range exhibits a bit of vibration. Husqvarna has also upgraded the previous round instrument cluster for the square-shaped TFT display from the Duke but with a custom graphic design that looks excellent. It comes equipped with features like traction control and SuperMoto ABS, though it misses out on the IMU found on the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/ktm/">KTM</a>.</p>

autoX Awards 2024: With India’s 400cc segment becoming increasingly competitive, the Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 still manages to stand out. It doesn’t even feel like it is competing in the same space – in fact, it seems to be in a league of its own, with a unique character.

<p><a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/husqvarna/">Husqvarna</a> has taken the wraps off the all-new Vitpilen 801, which is the company's second motorcycle to be based on the KTM 790 Duke platform after the&nbsp;Husqvarna Svartpilen 801. Offered in two colour options (yellow and silver), the Husqvarna Vitpilen 801 is built to provide what Husqvarna says is an&nbsp;engaging riding experience, made possible by a&nbsp;799cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine and state-of-the-art electronic rider aids.</p>

<p>The parallel-twin engine makes&nbsp;103.5bhp at 9,250rpm and&nbsp;87Nm of peak torque at 8,000rpm, the same as the&nbsp;Svartpilen 801. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox, and a&nbsp;bidirectional 'Easy Shift'&nbsp;quickshifter is available as an option. The chassis is a&nbsp;tubular steel unit,&nbsp;suspended by upside-down front forks (with 140mm travel) and a rear monoshock (with 150mm travel). Both are adjustable WP units. Braking duties are taken care of by dual 300mm discs with&nbsp;radially-mounted four-piston callipers at the front, and a single 240mm disc with a&nbsp;two-piston calliper at the rear. J.Juan has supplied the brake system, while the anti-lock braking system (ABS) is Bosch's.&nbsp;</p>

<h2>Husqvarna Vitpilen 801: Design</h2>

<p>The&nbsp;Husqvarna Vitpilen 801 gets a roadster-inspired design. It has a new bi-LED projector headlight with an oval-shaped LED daytime running lamp. While the side panels and the tail section appear to be influenced by the Svartpilen 801, the front fenders and radiator shrouds look different. The bike comes&nbsp;with 17-inch cast alloy wheels fitted with Michelin Road 6 tyres. While the new bike's handlebars are positioned lower, the footpegs are in the same position as the&nbsp;Svartpilen 801.&nbsp;</p>

<h2>Husqvarna Vitpilen 801: Features, Electronic Aids</h2>

<p>The design is complemented by a 5.0-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. Electronic aids include&nbsp;cornering-sensitive traction control, cornering ABS, ride-by-wire, and three ride modes (Street, Rain, Sport). The Dynamic mode is offered as an optional extra, along with a 10-level&nbsp;adjustable rear wheel slip and&nbsp;a switchable Supermoto ABS mode. Other optional bits include cruise control and anti-wheelie control.</p>

<h2>Husqvarna Vitpilen 801: Dimensions, Weight</h2>

<p>The&nbsp;Husqvarna Vitpilen 801 sits 820mm above the ground and has a ground clearance of 170mm. The weight (without fuel) is 180kg, while the fuel tank capacity is rated for 14 litres.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/husqvarna/">Husqvarna</a> has released a teaser video of its new Vitpilen 801. It took to Meta's Instagram platform to give us an idea of what to expect from the upcoming Vitpilen 801, which will debut&nbsp;globally in a production-spec guise on October 2, 2024. This will be Husqvarna's second model to be based on&nbsp;the KTM 790 Duke platform after the&nbsp;2024&nbsp;Svartpilen 801. The latter made its global debut in March 2024,&nbsp;taking&nbsp;the place of the single-cylinder Svartpilen 701.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Coming back to the&nbsp;Vitpilen 801, the model is expected to follow a cafe racer-like design while sharing some elements with its sibling, the&nbsp;Svartpilen 801. The teaser video reveals a new LED projector headlamp with an oval-shaped LED daytime running lamp around it. The tank extensions are quite sharp, while the side panels and the tail section appear to be influenced by the Svartpilen 801. Also, we expect the upcoming bike to feature lower handlebars and a lower-set headlamp&nbsp;compared to its sibling.&nbsp;</p>

Late last month, the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.autox.com/news/bike-news/2024-husqvarna-svartpilen-250-homologated-india-launch-soon-116292/">Svartpilen 250 was homologated</a>, revealing its gross weight, wheelbase, and more.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Husqvarna&nbsp;Svartpilen 250&nbsp;will be based on the current KTM 250 Duke&nbsp;– meaning the 2024 Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 will come powered by&nbsp;a new-generation 249cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, dubbed&nbsp;the LC4c.</p>
