The middleweight naked segment has seen a good number of new entrants of late. With the KTM 790 Duke, the Australian bikemaker has stepped up the game with a stupendous performance-to-cost ratio. The KTM Duke is, essentially, a stripped-down naked motorcycle, which carries a parallel-twin motor at its heart. By the looks of it, the 790 Duke is unmistakably a KTM. The snazzy orange shade, sharp creases, and the pointy LED headlamp altogether exude a modernistic appeal from this KTM.

Exterior Details

The KTM 790 Duke, with its scintillating design, is unmistakably the most appealing naked in the segment. As for the dimensions, the bike weighs in 169kg, has a ground clearance of 186mm, and a fuel tank capacity of 14-litres.

Engine & Transmission

As mentioned above, the KTM 790 Duke features a 799cc parallel-twin engine, which is capable of churning out 105bhp and 86Nm of torque. The engine is liquid-cooled and is mated to a six-speed manual transmission. As for its fuel efficiency, the KTM 790 Duke mileage is said to be 22.7km/l.

Handling

The cycle parts comprise a beefy 43mm WP upside-down telescopic forks setup at the front and a WP shock absorber with a preload adjuster at the back. The bike is based on a Chromium-Molybdenum-Steel chassis. At the front, it gets a 120/70 ZR17 tyre while at the rear it gets a fatter 180/55 ZR17 tyre. The braking duties are held by dual 300mm discs at the front and a 240mm disc at the rear.

As far as features and electronics are concerned, the KTM 790 Duke new model is loaded to the brim. The bike features switchable traction control, quick-shifter, motor slip regulation, cornering ABS, and four different riding modes – Street, Rain, Sport, and Track. Besides, there’s a Supermoto mode for enthusiasts, which disables ABS for the rear wheel. The fully digital instrument cluster packs a plethora of features and displays essential information such as speed, revolutions, fuel gauge, and odometer. As for the electricals, the headlamp and taillamp are both powered with LEDs.
