EICMA 2023: Moto Morini Corsaro, X-Cape and Milano Revealed, Get V-Twin Engine

Showcased along with other models, the Moto Morini Calibro 650 uses a 649cc parallel-twin motor that is mated to a 6-speed gearbox, resulting in a power output of 59bhp.

<p>Ahead of the 2023 EICMA next month, Moto Morini, the Italian motorcycle brand, has added the newest bike, the Calibro 650, to its lineup.&nbsp;Moto Morini's International site has only two products – the Seiemmezzo and the X-Cape – listed currently, but this new product will expand the company's lineup further. Whether this 650cc cruiser will make its entry into the domestic market remains to be seen, however, industry reports suggest that the bike is not likely&nbsp;to be introduced in time to come. Positioned as the closest rival to the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650, the Calibro 650 is a cruiser-styled bike with a round headlight with a fairing around it, a svelte fuel tank measuring 15 litres, a small smoked visor, a scooped-out split-styled seat setup, a semi-digital instrument console, and a relaxed rider triangle. The sporty cruiser&nbsp;is available in a dual-tone Red-Black colour. Unlike the&nbsp;Seiemmezzo and X-Cape, the&nbsp;Moto Morini Calibro 650 uses telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. As a result, the 650cc motorcycle has an accessible seat height of 720mm.&nbsp;</p>

<h2>Moto Morini Calibro 650: Powertrain</h2>

<p>Meanwhile, the braking hardware consists of discs on both ends, featuring J.Juan callipers. The Royal Enfield&nbsp;Super Meteor 650-rivalling Calibro 650 rides on 18-inch front and 16-inch rear wheels with road-focused tyres. Powering the cruiser is the same&nbsp;649cc parallel-twin motor as found on&nbsp;Moto Morini's other bikes. Nestled in a tubular frame, this&nbsp;motor mated to a 6-speed gearbox&nbsp;cranks out 59bhp. The torque figure is yet to be made public. For reference, the parallel-twin unit on the&nbsp;X-Cape adventure bike and the Seiemmezzo Scrambler delivers&nbsp;54Nm.&nbsp;</p>

<h2>Moto Morini Calibro 650: Pricing&nbsp;and Other Details</h2>

<p>Complete specifications and pricing details are still under wraps. Expect them to be uncovered at the upcoming 2023 EICMA show in Milan, Italy (November 7 to November 12). In terms of market rivalry, the&nbsp;Moto Morini Calibro 650 will take on the likes of the&nbsp;Kawasaki Vulcan S,&nbsp;Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650, and the Benelli 502C.</p>

<h2>Moto Morini India Lineup</h2>

<p>As of now, Moto Morini sells only two products in the country –&nbsp;the Seiemmezzo and X-Cape, with prices starting at Rs 6.89 lakh and Rs 7.20 lakh, respectively. All prices are ex-showroom.&nbsp;</p>

<h2>Moto Morini X-Cape 650, X-Cape 650X</h2>

<p>The X-Cape range consists of the brand’s middle-weight adventure motorcycles&nbsp;and comes with a 649cc liquid-cooled inline-twin engine&nbsp;delivering&nbsp;59bhp at 8,250rpm and 54Nm of 7,000rpm via a 6-speed gearbox.&nbsp;In terms of suspension, both motorcycles feature a fully adjustable 50mm Marzocchi USD fork up front and a&nbsp;KYB monoshock with&nbsp;preload and damping adjustments at the rear.&nbsp;</p>

<h2>Moto Morini Seiemmezzo 6 ½ Retro Street, Scrambler&nbsp;</h2>

<p>The Moto Morini&nbsp;Seiemmezzo 6 ½ range includes a retro street (or STR) and a Scrambler&nbsp;(or SCR). Like the X-Cape models, this duo is also powered by the same 649cc liquid-cooled inline-twin engine; however, in this range, the engine puts out a lesser 54bhp but the same 54Nm. A&nbsp;43mm USD fork up front and&nbsp;a monoshock at the rear make up the front and rear suspension.&nbsp;</p>

The Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650-rivalling Moto Morini Calibro 650 uses the same 649cc parallel-twin motor that also powers the Seiemmezzo and the X-Cape. Power output is rated at 59bhp.

<p>The X-Cape 650 ADV-R features a slightly raised saddle, which gives it an edge over the conventional X-Cape in terms of off-road ergonomics. The bike features a slew&nbsp;of off-road goodies, similar to those of other rally-edition adventure bikes.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Moto Morini has equipped the bike with an SC-Project exhaust system and a rally navigation system, which tracks off-road journeys. The ADV-R's thick, knobby tyres are another sign that it is intended for some serious&nbsp;off-road riding. The bike has an aluminium sump guard, which works as a safety shield for the underbelly while riding over challenging terrain at high speeds. It also has a&nbsp;new fairing with crash protectors, which extend all the way up and down the bodywork.</p>

<p>On the mechanical front, the bike delivers 58bhp&nbsp;via a&nbsp;649cc liquid-cooled fuel-injected parallel-twin engine. It's unclear at this time whether the Moto Morini X-Cape 650 ADV-R will be offered as a factory-produced motorcycle or not.</p>

Moto Morini reveals X-Cape ADV-R: All you need to know

Moto Morini has unveiled the X-Cape 650 at EICMA 2022 in a unique ADV-R trim. The Italian brand has come up with reworked off-road protection, an SC-Project exhaust system, and better ergonomics in the revised X-Cape 650.

<p>Looks can be subjective, but the Moto Morini X-Cape 650X is designed well. There are some bits of the Multistrada in there, some elements from the Africa Twin, the BMW F900XR and maybe a sprinkle of inspiration from the Yamaha Ténéré 700. All great-looking bikes, which gives the X-Cape an almost underlying familiarity. You look at it as a premium motorcycle, because it reminds you of a premium motorcycle.</p>

<p>The feeling of premiumness continues as you swing your leg around the saddle and play around with the switchgear. At ₹7.20-7.50 lakh, you get backlit, well-finished buttons with positive tactical feedback. You also get a body which has neat, tightly put-together panels and then there’s the massive 7-inch TFT screen that won’t feel out of place on movie night. It is super bright and very colourful. There are also riding modes on offer, switchable ABS, a fully-adjustable Marzocchi fork up front, and a monoshock at the rear with adjustment for preload and rebound damping. The X-Cape is very well kitted out, even before you set your eyes on the Pirelli Scorpion STR tyres that are wrapped around spoked rims on this ‘X’ variant. Yup, tubeless spoke rims. That’s not something you see every day at this price point.</p>

<p>It rides well too. The 649cc inline twin-cylinder engine barks nicely when you rev it and has adequate performance – 59bhp @ 8,250rpm and 54Nm @ 5,000rpm. Of course, the X-Cape’s tall stance and knobby tyres mean that it doesn’t feel ‘at home’ going full tilt around the BIC’s parabola but you can feel it is a well-balanced motorcycle underneath. And, having ridden it off-road, it truly is a capable machine when you take it out into the real world.</p>

<p>There are a few shortcomings though, the biggest one being the fact that Moto Morini is a new entity in India and though they will operate through pre-existing Benelli dealerships, there are not too many of those around either. That said, with the X-Cape, you are getting a lot of motorcycle for the money.</p>
