Revolt RV400 BRZ Launched in India at Rs 1.38 Lakh, Claims 150Km Range

The Revolt RV400 BRZ is available for purchase in five attractive colour schemes - Pacific Blue, Cosmic Black, Dark Silver, Rebel Red, and Lunar Green. Prospective customers can reserve the new RV400 BRZ at a nominal booking fee of Rs 499. 

Revolt Motors, the Haryana-based&nbsp;electric bike start-up, has introduced the RV400 in a new colour scheme called Eclipse Red. When the electric motorcycle was launched in August 2019, it was offered&nbsp;in two colour options – Rebel Red and Cosmic Black. Subsequently, it received additional versions:&nbsp;Mist Grey, Stealth Black Limited Edition, and India Blue Cricket Special Edition.

The Eclipse Red represents the third colour variant Revolt introduced this year, after the&nbsp;India Blue Cricket Special Edition (Rs 1.60 lakh, ex-showroom) and the Stealth Black Limited Edition (Rs. 1.18 lakh, ex-showroom).

<h2>Revolt RV400 Eclipse Red: Battery, Range, Top Speed</h2>

Other than the cosmetic changes, the Revolt RV400 Eclipse Red remains unaltered. In terms of powertrain, the bike&nbsp;is equipped with a 3.2kWh lithium-ion battery that is housed within the tank. Powering the e-motorcycle is&nbsp;a 3kW mid-drive motor sitting&nbsp;underneath the battery pack, producing&nbsp;170Nm of peak torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel via&nbsp;a sprocket belt drive

According to Revolt, the RV400 has a range of 150km (ARAI certified) in Eco mode. The bike can reach a maximum speed of 85km/h. Charging time is 4.5 hours, using a 15-ampere socket. The RV400 weighs 108 kilograms.

Touted as India's first AI-enabled electric motorcycle, the Revolt RV400 is&nbsp;aimed at youngsters and college-goers.&nbsp;In terms of features, the bike gets a digital instrument cluster, a start-stop button, and a USB phone charger. Along with these, the bike comes with modern niceties as well, such as&nbsp;Bluetooth connectivity for start/stop function, on-board diagnostics, geofencing for anti-theft, over-the-air software updates, and three riding modes – Eco, Normal and Sport.

The ex-showroom price of the Revolt RV400 India Blue Cricket Special Edition is Rs 1.60 lakh. However, the electric model can be purchased&nbsp;at an ex-showroom price of Rs 1.40 lakh, which includes the cost of the charger, with festive and other&nbsp;discounts worth Rs 15,000 and Rs 5,000, respectively.&nbsp;The company is accepting reservations for the Cricket Special Edition both online and offline. There will be only a limited number of the new RV400 motorcycle versions available, but the exact number is not yet confirmed. The e-bike has&nbsp;a shiny blue paint job that resembles the Indian cricket team's jersey, which differentiates it from the regular model. The Cricket Special Edition electric two-wheeler—is designed particularly for&nbsp;cricket fans, and is a brand's way of showing unwavering support to the team at the ongoing tournament.&nbsp;

<h2>Revolt RV400 Cricket Edition: Engine</h2>

Except for the striking blue paintwork, the RV400 Cricket Edition is similar to the base model. It continues to draw power from a 5kW motor and 3kWh battery, which allows for a driving range of up to 150 kilometres and a top speed of 85km/h. The motorcycle's hardware consists of front and rear disc brakes, a USD fork, and a monoshock.

<h2>Revolt RV400 Stealth Black Limited Edition</h2>

Following the Stealth Black Limited Edition, this Cricket Edition is the second exclusive RV400 model. The RV400 Stealth Black was launched in the month of August with a price tag of Rs 1.18 lakh (ex-showroom). Cosmetically, the Stealth Black Edition of the&nbsp;Revolt RV400 boasts a range of blacked-out components, including the alloy wheels, rear swingarm, rear grab handle, and bike frame. The RV400 Stealth Black model's appearance is further accentuated by the Sporty Yellow rear monoshock and the gold-finished upside-down front fork.

The Tork Kratos has made its India debut and the new all-electric motorcycle has been launched in two variants - The Kratos and the Kratos R. The key rival to the Tork Kratos is the Revol RV400 which has been on sale in India for some time now. Tork has also revealed the Kratos R which is essentially a more powerful and expensive version of the standard Kratos. Thus we shall be keeping the sportier Kratos R out of the comparison for now.

Powertrain

The peak power of the Kratos is marginally higher, however, the continuous power output of both the electric scooters are closely matched. However, it is the newer Tork Kratos which has a slight advantage over the RV400.

As these are electric motorcycles, there is an engaging amount of torque available. That said, the Revolt RV400 is the one with a 50Nm torque output, which is higher than the most sportier Tork Kratos R – The Kratos R makes 12bhp and 38Nm.

Battery capacity &amp; Range

The Kratos gets a slightly larger battery than the Revolt RV400. This has also resulted in more (claimed) single-charge range of the Kratos compared to the RV400. Revolt claims that the RV400 can be completely charged from 0-100 per cent in 4.5 hours. The Tork Kratos also takes somewhere around the same time for a full charge.

Cycle parts

There isn’t much to discuss the components as both the motorcycles are kitted out in a similar manner. Both the Kratos and the RV400 get 17-inch wheels and both the bikes use a disc brake set on with end. The Revoll RV400 gets up-side down forks, whereas, the Tork Kratos gets conventional forks. The bigger battery pack of the Kratos has also contributed in the motorcycle’s kerb weight, making it substantially heavier than the RV400.

Pricing

The Fame-II initiative and state subsidy have reduced the price of the Tork Kratos to Rs 1.02 lakh (ex-showroom). However, this price is valid only in Delhi and different cities of India offer different amounts of subsidies.

The Revolt RV400 is priced at Rs 1.29 lakh (ex-showroom) which is higher than the price of the Tork Kratos. Interestingly, the RV400 is more expensive than the Kratos R which is priced at Rs 1.17 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
