<p>If you are in the market for an affordable Bluetooth device for your helmet and enjoy listening to music on the move, the Royal Enfield Motowave X2 is worth considering. Royal Enfield sent us a unit to test, and we spent some time using it during our daily commutes to see whether it truly deserves a place on your helmet.</p><h2> Royal Enfield Motowave X2: Box Contents and Helmet Installation</h2><p>The packaging carries subtle design cues inspired by motorcycle components. The earpiece resembles a wheel, the Bluetooth unit looks like a side panel, and the microphone is styled like a compact exhaust. These are thoughtful touches that give the product a premium feel. Inside the box, you get two speakers, speaker spacers, a battery pack, a Bluetooth control unit, a microphone, and a charging cable. The device is IP67-rated, making it water- and dust-resistant.</p><p> The installation process is simple, whether you fit it on a half-face or full-face helmet. Royal Enfield says that the Motowave X2 is primarily intended for half-face helmets, which is what we used for our testing. The speakers tuck neatly behind the cheek pads, with the wiring easily concealed beneath the helmet liner. We positioned the battery pack at the rear of the helmet, while the Bluetooth control unit and the microphone were mounted on the left side.</p><h2>Royal Enfield Motowave X2: Battery Life, Audio Quality and Connectivity</h2><p>In real-world use, the battery comfortably lasted through four to five days of office commutes. While we did not quite achieve the claimed 16+ hours of playback, it consistently delivered between 11 and 12 hours, which is more than sufficient for daily duty. The audio experience is not designed to replicate a live concert inside your helmet, but it is clear and balanced enough for both music and podcasts. Even with the noticeable wind noise inherent to the open-face helmet we used, the playback remained audible and enjoyable.</p><p>  Call quality is particularly impressive for this price point; conversations remain clear while riding, and we did not encounter frequent signal drops, even in heavy traffic. The three large, tactile buttons on the control unit are easy to operate, even with gloves on. The Bluetooth 5.3 connection remains stable, and pairing with a smartphone is seamless. Although the device carries Royal Enfield branding, the hardware and technology are sourced from Blu Armor, and the ‘Dhwani by Blu’ tuning ensures that call clarity stands out as a strong attribute.</p><h2> Royal Enfield Motowave X2 Review Verdict</h2><p>At Rs 3,999, the Royal Enfield Motowave X2 makes a very strong case for itself. This one is more focused on road use and sits as a sharper option in the lineup. Prices start at Rs 2.49 lakh (ex-showroom), and bookings are open across the country. The Apex variant brings changes to how the bike feels from the saddle. It gets an aluminium handlebar that sits 56mm lower. The Guerrilla 450 continues with the same 452cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled Sherpa engine. It makes 40bhp and 40Nm, paired with a six-speed gearbox and a slip-and-assist clutch. I spent time with both to see which one truly earns that elusive ‘one bike that can do it all’ spot in your garage.</p>

<p>Let’s talk aesthetics first. The Scram 440 seems like something that’s stepped straight off a Mad Max set – chunky, rugged, and carrying that effortlessly cool uncle vibe. It doesn’t try too hard to be a modern ADV; instead, it embraces its scrambler roots with the kind of honest toughness that feels almost indestructible.</p><p>

With its tall windscreen, sharp LED lighting, and broad stance, it could easily pass for something ready for the Dakar. There's also no getting away from the fact that its designers did take inspiration from big, premium European ADVs, but I think they have done a good job with the final execution. While the Scram feels like a protagonist’s DIY ride in a zombie apocalypse film, the RTX feels like a precision tool purpose-built by engineers.</p>







<h2>TVS Apache RTX vs Royal Enfield Scram 440: Ergonomics and Comfort</h2>

<p>The way you interact with these two motorcycles is fundamentally different. On the Scram 440, you sit in the motorcycle. With a very approachable seat height of 795mm, almost anyone can flat foot it, which immediately inspires confidence. The handlebars are tall, the position is relaxed, and it feels incredibly natural for darting through city traffic.</p><p>

    </p><p>However, once you stand up to tackle a trail, you notice the side panels are a bit too wide, making it difficult to grip the tank securely. Our media unit even had visible scuff marks on its side panels – likely from boots constantly brushing against them while trying to grip it tightly.</p><p>The Apache RTX, by contrast, puts you on the motorcycle. With a taller 855mm seat height, it can be intimidating for shorter riders. But once you start moving, the ergonomics feel far more focused. The inseam is narrower than the Scram’s, and for someone like me – who prefers standing and muscling a bike through dirt – the RTX offers much better leverage and control.</p><p>

<p>A quick note on weight: the Scram is the heavier machine at 196kg, compared to the RTX’s 180kg. Yet the Scram carries its weight low, which makes it feel planted and stable. The RTX, meanwhile, feels a touch top-heavy, turning slow-speed U-turns into a bit of a leg workout. However, that lighter kerb weight and top-heavy weight distribution give you more confidence to take the RTX off-road, compared to the Scram, which can seem slightly lethargic and heavy-footed when it comes to getting over obstacles and hurdles.</p>

<h2>TVS Apache RTX vs Royal Enfield Scram 440 - Features and Technology</h2>

<p>This is where the Scram 440 feels properly outgunned. Royal Enfield has kept things simple and honest.</p><p>

<p>That said, here’s the journalist in me playing devil’s advocate: do you really need four ride modes on a 35bhp motorcycle? Out in the middle of nowhere, more technology often means more things that might go wrong. In that sense, the Scram’s simplicity feels like its strength – you can fix it with a bit of jugaad and a wrench. The RTX offers you that ‘wow’ factor, but the Scram delivers a tad better peace of mind for nomadic travels.</p>

<h2>TVS Apache RTX vs Royal Enfield Scram 440 - Engine and Performance</h2>

<p>The engines of these two bikes are as different as chalk and cheese. The Scram 440 feels like the tractor of the scrambler world – and I mean that as the highest compliment.</p><p>

You could leave it in third all day in the city, and it won’t complain. It’s all about riding the wave of torque rather than chasing the redline.</p><p>The Apache RTX, by contrast, features a brand-new 300cc liquid-cooled engine producing 35.5bhp. It’s peppy and engaging, but it demands a bit of work.</p><p>

<p>In terms of refinement, neither is perfect. The RTX suffers from a high-frequency buzz through the pegs and bars, which can numb your hands during long highway rides. The Scram has more pronounced vibrations, but they feel more like character rather than annoyance – although if you’re switching over to the RE from a Japanese bike, you’ll definitely notice them.</p>

<h2>TVS Apache RTX vs Royal Enfield Scram 440 - Ride and Off-Road Performance</h2>

<p>On the road, the Scram 440 rides like a stiff roadster. While it’s confident around corners, its suspension can feel a bit harsh over sharp bumps. Off-road, at low speeds, its low-end grunt helps it chug over almost any obstacle. But try jumping it, and you’ll hear that dreaded clack as the suspension bottoms out.</p><p>

It slices through urban traffic with agility and feels like the more sophisticated package when the tarmac runs out. While the Scram survives the trail, the RTX attacks it decisively.</p>

<p>So, which one deserves your money?</p>

<p>The Scram 440 is the niche option. It’s friendly, torquey and carries that timeless ruggedness Royal Enfield fans adore. If you value nostalgia and mechanical simplicity over fast trails and tech fests, this is your bike.</p><p>

For reference, the standard Himalayan in the UK starts at £5,750.&nbsp;Let’s take a closer look at all the updates. </p><h2><strong>Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Phantom Edition: What’s Different?</strong></h2><p>One of the major upgrades on the Phantom Edition is its revised suspension setup. <p>Royal Enfield sold 1.01 lakh motorcycles overall in February 2026, compared to 90,670 motorcycles during the same month last year, marking a growth of 11%. Of the total, 91,248 units were sold&nbsp;locally, registering a rise of 13% from 80,799 units sold last year. Meanwhile, exports stood at 9,657 units, a marginal decline of 2% from 9,871 units exported in February 2025.&nbsp;In terms of year-to-date (YTD) sales, overall volumes rose 24%&nbsp;to 11.26 lakh units from 9.09 lakh units sold in the same period last year.&nbsp;Royal Enfield recorded domestic sales of 10.07 lakh units,&nbsp;marking a 24% growth. Meanwhile, overseas shipments increased to 1.19 lakh units, registering a 27% year-on-year rise.</p><p>Speaking about the performance for February 2026, B. Govindarajan, Managing Director - Eicher Motors Ltd. and Chief Executive Officer -&nbsp;Royal Enfield, said, 'February continues the positive momentum we have seen this financial year, reflecting sustained demand across markets and our growing global community.'</p><p>He also added, 'To prepare for current and future growth,&nbsp;we recently announced plans for a capacity addition that will be achieved over the next 18 months&nbsp;through a brownfield expansion at our Cheyyar manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu.&nbsp;This will take our annual production capacity up to 20 lakh units from&nbsp;the existing 14.6 lakh units. <p>The custom 440 uses the same platform as the old Himalayan, but an enlarged engine, thanks to the genuine<a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/royal-enfield/"> Royal Enfield</a> parts from the Scram 440. It boasts a displacement increased to 443cc&nbsp; and the addition of a sixth gear. This Royal Enfield Himalayan 440 by TNT Customs Is for Riders Who Wanted More from the Old Himalayan

TNT Motorcycles, also known as TNT Customs, has taken the wraps off the Himalayan 440, a bespoke machine that combines the charm of the old 411 with Scram 440 parts for enhanced performance. 

<p>A production-ready  test mule of Royal Enfield’s first electric bike, the Flying Flea C6, has been seen testing on Indian roads without any camouflage.&nbsp;As seen in the images, the bike closely resembles the prototype&nbsp;showcased at EICMA 2024. It features a round headlamp,&nbsp;an exposed frame structure, minimalistic body panels, girder front forks, large alloy wheels, and a belt-drive setup positioned on the right side.&nbsp;A centre stand is also included, which was not available on earlier test mules.&nbsp;While <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/royal-enfield/">Royal Enfield </a>has yet to confirm an official launch date, the Flying&nbsp;Flea C6 is slated to go on sale here in Q1 2026. It will have no direct competitors in the country.</p><h2><strong>Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6: Features</strong></h2><p>The <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/royal-enfield/flying-flea-c6/">Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6</a>&nbsp;is said to come with a 3.5-inch TFT digital instrument console that shows information such as real-time speed,&nbsp;battery charge level, estimated riding range, odometer,&nbsp;and trip data. This will help in reducing overall mass while&nbsp;improving thermal management and structural rigidity. It will also employ a belt-drive transmission system.
