The Vespa 150 proved to be a mixed bag in our annual track test. On the one hand, it remains an undisputed icon – a rolling piece of art that commands attention and wins on charm and road presence alone before the engine even fires up. The Qala Edition we tested, with its intricate mehndi-inspired graphics, exemplifies this perfectly. It is a showstopper. It drew more glances from the jury than many of the high-end motorcycles on the list. On the other hand, it feels familiar to the point of being dated, resting on its laurels, without taking the game forward.</p>

<p>This is what made its track performance the biggest surprise of the day. With its premium-lifestyle focus, we expected it to be a slow-speed, style-oriented cruiser. While the Aprilia felt aggressive and sharp, the Vespa proved more composed and effective against the clock.</p>

<p>This surprising pace is not because of the engine. Its 149.5 cc 3-valve air-cooled motor is engaging, but it’s certainly no powerhouse. The secret to its performance lies in its chassis. Unlike any of its rivals, the Vespa uses a full-steel monocoque construction. <p>Piaggio India has announced revised prices for its Vespa and Aprilia scooter range following the rollout of the new GST 2.0 structure for two-wheelers under 350cc. The updated tax norms, which came into effect on 22 September 2025, lower the effective cost of ownership for buyers. By fully passing on the benefit of this tax cut, Piaggio has made both Vespa and Aprilia scooters more accessible across the country.</p><p>The Vespa lineup has received significant price adjustments. Popular models, including the Vespa ZX, Vespa 125, and Vespa S, are now priced lower at the ex-showroom level. The Vespa ZX, earlier listed at Rs 1.20 lakh, can now be purchased for Rs 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom). The Vespa Tech is priced at Rs 1.92 lakh, carrying a premium of Rs 56,000 over the Vespa S 125. On the other hand, the Vespa S Tech comes in two colours—Nero Black (Matte) and Pearl White—and is priced at Rs 1.96 lakh. 2025 Vespa 125 Series Launched in India; Prices Start at Rs 1.32 Lakh

The 2025 Vespa range will be available at all approved dealerships across India from February 25. Let’s take a closer look into the details of each model in the new lineup.

<p>The new Vespa GTS&nbsp;has made its debut on the global market with a larger 310cc liquid-cooled engine&nbsp;(a longer-stroke derivative of the former 278cc High-Performance Engine).&nbsp;The new powerplant contains more than 70% new components, resulting in higher performance.&nbsp;For example, the stroke of a single-cylinder now stands at 70mm, a bit higher than the previous 63mm. This raises displacement from 278cc to 310cc and output to 25bhp at 7,750rpm.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The new Euro 5+ engine is more efficient, resulting in lower fuel consumption and pollutants. Other powertrain modifications include&nbsp;injectors, cylinder inclination, starting system, and crankcase design. With all these enhancements, the GTS 310 is the most powerful Vespa ever.</p>

<p>Design-wise, the Vespa GTS 310 exudes a classic vibe.&nbsp;It features an elegantly designed front apron, protruding side panels, and a tidy tail section.&nbsp;The scooter has two variants: GTS Super and GTS SuperSport. These models set themselves apart&nbsp;with seats and&nbsp;wheel colours graphics.</p>

<p>Two-wheelers have evolved significantly in recent years, and the Vespa is no different.&nbsp;The new GTS 310 sports an electronic traction control system for the rear wheel and ABS brakes on both wheels. It has LED lights and a USB port.&nbsp;Moreover, there are options for front fender protection, a heated seat, heated grips, and a rear luggage rack.</p>

<h2>Piaggio Group at EICMA 2024</h2>

<p>Piaggio Group was the main attraction at EICMA this year, with&nbsp;a variety of new additions across all brands.&nbsp;April unveiled the eagerly anticipated&nbsp;Aprilia Tuono 457, updated RS 660, and the new RS 660 Factory at the event. The&nbsp;Tuono 457 is a street-naked derivative of the RS 457, which is currently on sale in India for Rs 4.10 lakh (ex-showroom).&nbsp;It features two colour options (Puma Gray and Piranha Red), a split headlamp design, and boomerang-shaped LED DRLs.&nbsp;To match the overall streamlined and muscular look, tank extensions are used in place of the RS 457's fairing.&nbsp;Other features include rearset footpegs, a two-piece seat, and an underbelly exhaust.</p>

<p>The 2025 RS 660, on the other hand, now has winglets for improved aerodynamics and a Euro 5+ engine with more power.&nbsp;It also gets an enhanced active electronic controls package.&nbsp;The RS 660 Factory has modern Ohlins suspension,&nbsp;featuring a 43 mm NIX 30 series fork and an STX 46 shock absorber with an integrated reservoir.&nbsp;Both include fully adjustable hydraulic rebound and compression damping, as well as spring preload.</p>

<p>The Vespa Elettrica takes its name and inspiration from the Mansory Ferrari 458 Spider Monaco Edition, which debuted in 2012 with an Enzo-inspired front end. The rich motorsport heritage of Monaco&nbsp;lends the name its iconic status. As the name suggests, this Italian scooter is all-electric and prioritises urban mobility above high performance.</p>

The brushless DC motor, which has a peak output of 5.36bhp&nbsp;and continuous power of 4.82bhp, is propelled&nbsp;by a 4.3kWh lithium-ion battery.&nbsp;There are two riding modes available: eco and power, with a range of about 70 km and 100 km, respectively.&nbsp;The scooter can reach a top speed of 45km/h in power mode and 70km/h in eco mode.</p>

<p>Italian automaker Piaggio has launched the limited-edition&nbsp;Vespa 946 Dragon in India. Priced at Rs 14.28&nbsp;lakh (ex-showroom, India), the&nbsp;Vespa 946 Dragon is an exclusive, collector's edition version of the Vespa 946 scooter, although visually different from the standard version. The Dragon edition has a base Gold colour with dragon decals highlighted in Emerald Green.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Introduced globally to celebrate the Lunar New Year on January 24 in Hong Kong, the Vespa 946 Dragon scooter is a nod to what the company says is the&nbsp;coming together of cultures, innovation and sophistication, with a distinct sense of energy and power associated with the dragon. The bookings for the special-edition scooter are now open at authorised&nbsp;Motoplex showrooms in India, and the Dragon edition will arrive on our market as a completely built unit (CBU). <p>The&nbsp;Vespa 946 Dragon uses a&nbsp;150cc, air-cooled, fuel-injected, four-valve engine.&nbsp;In the standard&nbsp;946, this engine makes 11.1bhp and 10.3Nm of peak torque. Hardware-wise, the scooter has a&nbsp;metal-monocoque body, suspended by a&nbsp;single leading-link shock at the front and a&nbsp;preload adjustable shock absorber at the back.</p>

The bookings for the special-edition Vespa 946 Dragon scooter are now open at authorised Motoplex showrooms in India. Only 1,888 units of the model are available for purchase globally. 

<p>Piaggio has introduced a limited-edition Vespa scooter in India that was co-created with Canadian pop sensation and pop star Justin Bieber and retails for Rs 6.45 lakh. The outcome of this collaboration, known as the JUSTIN BIEBER X VESPA, is a collector's model limited edition that combines Bieber's artistic ingenuity with Vespa's timeless design. This special Vespa scooter which has been designed by Justin Bieber is now up for booking as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) import, is sure to enthral fans all across India. The vast majority of the scooter is mostly white in colour, and notably, it is fitted with whitewall tyres, a rarity in modern times. In addition, white flames have been painted over the white background.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Bieber chooses a minimalist black and white aesthetic for his Vespa scooter design. Everything about this white Vespa Sprint is immaculate: the paint, the grips, the spokes, and the saddle. The brand's emblem and the drawn flames on the scooter's exterior are both done in white.</p>

<p>During its global debut in 2022, Justin Bieber said, “The first time I rode a Vespa was somewhere in Europe, probably either London or Paris. I just remember seeing a Vespa and being like ‘I want to ride one of those’. And I had such a great time, just the wind flying through my hair, the freedom. That was a lot of fun.</p>

<p>“I love Vespa, and to partner with such a classic brand is so cool. Being able to express myself, whether it's through art, music, visuals, or aesthetics, being able to create something from nothing - it's a part of me. <p>The Vespa Sprint 150, a popular scooter in the United States, served as the foundation for this limited edition version. For clarity, that's a 155cc, single-cylinder engine producing 12bhp and 12.4Nm of torque. A single-channel anti-lock braking system (ABS) is standard, as are 12-inch wheels front and rear. Vespa's Justin Bieber limited edition scooter features a TFT screen with Bluetooth and app connectivity.</p>

Piaggio says that the yellow wheels are symbolic of the cartoon's shoes, while the black mirrors resemble his distinctive round ears.</p>

<p>The Vespa Primavera serves as&nbsp;the base model for the Mickey Mouse Edition, and the special edition will be extended to the Primavera 50cc, 125cc, and 150cc models.&nbsp;Powering the Vespa Primavera is an i-get (Italian Green Experience Technology) 4-stroke, 3-valve per-cylinder engine with electronic injection. According to Piaggio, this engine represents the state-of-the-art benchmark in its sector.&nbsp;</p>
