<p><strong>The rival to the Mercedes-Benz GLC, the Audi Q5, and Volvo XC60 is here. The BMW X3 facelift packs an impressive amount of bells and whistles but will be available in the petrol guise only, for now.</strong></p>

<p>The BMW X3 facelift has been launched in India and is being offered in two variants. The changes include an updated exterior and tweaks to the interior and powertrain options. Following are the ex-showroom prices of the updated BMW X3:</p>

<p><strong>BMW X3 xDrive 30i SportX Plus: Rs 59,90,000 (ex-showroom)</strong></p>

<p><strong>BMW X3 xDrive 30i M Sport: Rs 65,90,000 (ex-showroom)</strong></p>

<p>The new updated SUV misses out on diesel powerplant and only features a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. The power output of both petrol variants is 248bhp at 5,200rpm. The peak torque of 350Nm is delivered between 1,450 and 4,800rpm. The power is forwarded to all the wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox.</p>

<p>BMW has confirmed that the diesel variant will be launched at a later date. The 2.0-litre diesel variant of the BMW X3 facelift is likely to make a comeback by Q2 of 2022. There are good odds that the M Sport variant of the BMW X3 facelift diesel could feature a 3.0-litre straight-six engine.</p>

<p>The new X3 in the M Sport variant gets more sporty bumpers on both ends, gloss black roof rails, and 19-inch light-weight 887 M Y-Spoke alloy wheels. The M Sport variant gets a Harman and Kardon Surround sound system and 360-degree surround-view cameras, while the SportX Plus variant misses out on the aforementioned features.</p>

<p>The SportX Plus variant also misses out on the dynamic suspension system and variable torque split system – for these features you will have to opt for the M Sport variant.</p>

<p>The M Sport variant also features BMW’s Live Cockpit Professional; however, the SportX Plus variant of the X3 gets the standards BMW Live Cockpit.</p>

<p>Despite packing these features, the BMW X3 M Sport is only Rs 6 lakh more expensive than the base variant. For now, the more premium BMW X3 xDrive 30i M Sport variant seems to be the more value-for-money option of the two. That being said, these prices are introductory and could see an upward revision by the end of this quarter.</p>

<p>The&nbsp;BMW X3 facelift will be launched on January 20, 2022. Bookings for the new SUV have already commenced, and BMW India is offering a tempting deal for early customers. If interested customers pre-book the SUV, they will receive their 2022 X3 with a set of light-weight M alloys, worth Rs 2 lakh, for free of cost.</p>

<p>The price of the outgoing BMW X3 starts at Rs 57.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The updated SUV is likely to cost slightly higher than the current X3 on sale. The higher cost will get you updated styling. The fascia will be marginally aggressive, so expect a slimmer headlamp design, chiselled bumpers, and larger wheels with the new BMW X3.</p>

<p>The interior will be retouched as well. The dashboard will house a 12.3-inch multimedia system and a 12.3-inch instrument cluster. The seats and door trims are likely to feature new fabric, but interested buyers can also opt for premium leather.</p>

<p>The engine options are likely to be the same as the current SUV. Currently, the BMW X3 features a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and a diesel engine. The gearbox will also be the same eight-speed automatic. The firm could also introduce the higher variant of the car, which features a 3.0-litre straight-six diesel motor.</p>

<p>More details will be revealed on January 20, after its official price announcement. The SUV will continue its rivalry with other premium SUVs, such as the Audi Q5, Volvo XC60, and Mercedes-Benz GLC.</p>

<p>BMW India has started accepting bookings for its upcoming facelift X3 SUV. This premium SUV is likely to be launched by the end of this month. While the prices of the outgoing BMW X3 range between Rs 57.90 lakh and Rs 64.90 lakh (ex-showroom), we’re expecting a marginal Rs 2 lakh hike with the updated model.</p>

<p>BMW has also announced that customers who pre-book the upcoming SUV will get their BMW X3 equipped with a set of 20-inch ‘M’ alloy wheels – which cost almost Rs 2 lakh – &nbsp;for free of cost. That is indeed a very tempting offer.</p>

<p>As for the updates to the SUV, the upcoming X3 is already on sale in the international market, thus, we can assume the looks and the features of it.</p>

<p>The exterior will be different from the current model on sale. Expect&nbsp;aggressively styled headlamps and bumpers. The grille will be reworked as well. The rear end of the upcoming SUV will feature a set of newly designed LED tail lamps as well. This is just a &nbsp;nip and tuck job, so do not expect a drastic change in styling, but the overall looks of the X3 will be updated to the current family design.</p>

However, the stopgap between the two may be the facelifted BMW X3.</p>
