<p>Now, BMW India has launched the facelifted X3 in the diesel iteration for Rs 65.50 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV is offered in one single trim – the Luxury Edition.</p>

<p>The BMW X3 xDrive 30i SportX Plus and the xDrive 30i M Sport variant are currently limited to the petrol model. However, BMW could be cooking a more powerful diesel X3 for the Indian car market, which could get the brand’s 3.0-litre straight-six turbo-diesel motor.</p>

<p>Yes, the 286bhp 3.0-litre in-line diesel mill, which powers the 6 series GT (630d), could also power the X3, which&nbsp;will then be offered with the M Sport tag. However, let's put the speculations away for now and focus on the version currently offered.</p>

<p>The BMW X3 xDrive Luxury edition gets a 2.0-litre diesel engine, which is mated to an eight-speed auto. The SUV features an all-wheel-drive system as well. The power output is rated at 188bhp, which is delivered at 4,000rpm. The 400Nm of torque comes in between 1,750 and 2,500rpm.</p>

<p>With the diesel offering, BMW has strengthened the 2022 X3 position against its rivals, namely, the Mercedes-Benz GLC, the Audi Q5, and Volvo XC60. That being said, the Q5 and the XC60 miss out on a diesel mill, which makes the GLC the only real rival to the X3.</p>
